I called and Pillar answered and then transfered me to Sandra and Sandra told me my file had been reassigned to her. I think if you asked for her you can get her. Since your wedding isn't until July I can see you being reassigned to her too!

I didn't take the extra cake per person as desert comes with dinner and there will probably be more than enough cake with the 25ppl included. For the cocktail hour I am only taking the hors d'oeuvres for 25 which is included as most of the guest will be taking pictures and they provide 5pieces per person which should cover the rest, they didn't charge for cocktails during that time. For the champagne toast right after the wedding i was told as long as you are ok with glasses pre filled and served with champagne then it's no cost. It only costs if you want the bottles opened there.
i've got Sandra now as a coordinator and i am very happy so far. I called her about the quote and asked her to call me right back and she did and we went through line by line and she answered all my questions.

Hope this helps. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I'm a detail and organizational nazi lol so I will probably have the answer you need.

Congrats!

Lisa
Thanks for the advice Lisa, that seems WAY more reasonable. I am definately going to negotiate the pricing and I will use your suggestions :) I am sure I will have MANY more questions for you too! I have Pilar as my wedding coordinator which makes me a little nervous, but hopefully it all works out. Good luck on all your planning too.

Flowers: She said they have a contract with their onsite florist and flowers from other vendors can be delivered or accepted by them but If you want to pick them up or have them deliver them directly to you outside of the resort then you can use them for the wedding.
ok, thank you so much for the info! Im sure I could find something more inexpensive from an outside florist- I may just even want one or two simple flowers for bridesmaids to carry...

I also just found out that there is a wedding in the same location as me TWO HOURS before my ceremony!!
I am getting married at the NOW on June 11, 2011 and my mom is a florist, so I asked Pilar if we could have flowers shipped there from an outside vendor so my mom could arrange them on the day of the wedding and she was fine with that. The only thing that I thought was ridiculous was that she told me even though we are bringing our own flowers, they will not discount the price of the flowers out of the package!!

Isn't it amazing the inconsistent information that we are given from the same resort. I am going to have to speak with Sandra again cause i was told no. Hopefully I get the answer you got cause it will be alot cheaper!!!

Do you know if they accept shipments ahead of time for other stuff like fans or maracas and store them for you? Might be risky to do that but just curious.

Thanks

Sorry it's just a bad day over here in wedding planning world.
It's at home but i will send it to you later tonight. Don't fret you still have lots of time and once you actually get on the phone with one of them and go line by line then you will see the costs disappear!!! om not disappear but decrease lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
