I am in the middle of booking my wedding here for May 11 2011 :) I am so excited! I am so glad there are so many other people getting married here too! I was a little nervous at first because I couldnt find many people getting married here. I just got the pricing for additional people, I think I am going to be negotiating that! Couldnt believe that it was over 100$ extra per person! We are only having about 35 people but still thats an extra $1000! There are some great tips on here :) Thanks ladies!

I just posted this on NOW's facebook page.

Ok ladies...if you have any questions try to be specific and number the questions. so it's not jumbled up in a paragraph. Because I just got the answers I needed!!

It seems if you list the questions and number them they will answer each question specifically. I had to do that and I got the answers I needed...or shall I say wanted. lol

Ugh why are there no bridesmaids bouquets in the pkgs? I didn't even realize that! What the heck am I supposed to do with a corsage...? I would also like to know about outside florists! I wonder if I could order one or two small bouquets and split them up since I have four bridesmaids? I also just found out that there is a wedding in the same location as me TWO HOURS before my ceremony!!

You could get some real touch flowers. And just bring them with you. I do believe they will let you hire an outside florist but not 100% sure. But you could use the corsages for the mothers. Just an idea. because that's what I planned on doing...although only his mom will have one and i'll just have an extra one.

I've learned to get pretty specific with my questions. I'm going to bring all of our correspondence with me just in case she tries to tell me she didn't agree to something we talked about.

I'm not sure about the flowers coming from an external vendor-but I would be curious to find out! We are paying a ton of money for the flowers as it is now. If I could find a florist nearby and have them delivered-I could probably do all the same stuff for half the price. I'll email her about it. She's actually been responding to my emails pretty quickly these days.
Hi Tracy

Just to let you know the previous wedding coordinator Sandra is back and they have reassigned a bunch of files between the two of them. I have got Sandra now and I had a lengthy conversation with her yesterday and she is great! We went over the package quote in detail so I have some answers for you.
Flowers: She said they have a contract with their onsite florist and flowers from other vendors can be delivered or accepted by them but If you want to pick them up or have them deliver them directly to you outside of the resort then you can use them for the wedding.
She said that the videographer shows up about 20minutes pre ceremony and starts filming the arrival of people, does the ceremony for about 30 minutes and a bit more just after the ceremony so about an hour of filming and then they edit a 30minute dvd for you. She said I would get total three hours for not taking the photographer from the resort. She also said you can split up the time so if you want the cermony, not the cocktail hour or dinner but you want the dance they can ask them to wait.
Photographer: I think i am bringing my own and she never mentioned any charge for that. i thought she would charge my the day fee of 65$ but i told her i only wanted him there for 4hours that day and then the next day about an hour on the beach and then the rest off the resort in a cenote and she said fine.
Gazebo Decor: She told me it includes the white fabric drapping and garland for the posts to hold the fabric. I also understood 4 individual flowers on each post but maybe some translation issues there not sure! They only have red and white carpet runners for free. She is going to source cost for blue and green fabric for the drapping of the gazebo for me as well but i am sure i could probably bring it for cheaper.
Hope this helps!

Hi Tamara

That pricing is far more excessive then what i am paying. I took the devine package which includes 25 people and I am only paying the addition 25 for dinner at 53$ a head. I didn't take the extra cake per person as desert comes with dinner and there will probably be more than enough cake with the 25ppl included. For the cocktail hour I am only taking the hors d'oeuvres for 25 which is included as most of the guest will be taking pictures and they provide 5pieces per person which should cover the rest, they didn't charge for cocktails during that time. For the champagne toast right after the wedding i was told as long as you are ok with glasses pre filled and served with champagne then it's no cost. It only costs if you want the bottles opened there.
i've got Sandra now as a coordinator and i am very happy so far. I called her about the quote and asked her to call me right back and she did and we went through line by line and she answered all my questions.

Hope this helps. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I'm a detail and organizational nazi lol so I will probably have the answer you need.

Congrats!

they do have bridemaids bouquets but they are not part of any package and are 65$ a peice and I believe quite small. the two corsages in the package i am using for the grooms mother and my grandmother.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
