Deciding on location and type of accommodation!

PS....do you know if Ceiba del Mar is fairly close to Cancun? There is not a disco on site, just wondering what the options would be for some of my friends that like to go out!

No, we aren't doing package deals because we have guests coming from all over the U.S., and for different amounts of time as well (some are doing a full week, some just 3 nights). So instead we did a room block and negotiated a rate per night for the rooms (it's actually in our contract that we cannot give out those numbers on public forums!). Our guests will book their rooms through a booking code with the resort to get the rates we set, and they'll be on their own for booking flights. I've always found this works better because you can watch the airlines and wait for a sale to book. However, I don't think you all have the budget airlines that we have here... Air Tran and Jet Blue can be dirt cheap sometimes! I've booked DC to Cancun for $150 before.

Ceiba is in Puerto Morelos, which is in between Cancun (20-25 mins) and Playa del Carmen (35-40 mins). I think we are actually going to rent a bus or some vans to take us out one night in one of those cities. There is a thread on here in the Riviera Maya forum about that, as others are looking into doing that as well.
