Congrats on your wedding. The count down has began!

Qustion for you: are you doing a private function? do you have a private photographer or are you going with the resorts photographer? are you also going with the florist at the resort?

Would love to see some pictures of your wedding! I am getting married in March!

10-19 rooms or 30 room nights = 2 nights comp + 1 cocktail (function areas area assigned upon availability with the onsite wedding planner and confirmed upon arrival)

20-24 rooms or 60 room nights = 4 comp nights + 1 private function

25 + rooms or 75 room nights = 7 comp nights  + unlimited private function + one room upgrade  for the bride and groom to the next available room category

Can someone please explain to me what room nights mean? If we have 26 people is hay 182 room nights? Or is it 7 nights per room? Also, what exactly is an unlimited private room? Do you just get a room and dinner is extra? I'm trying to budget but can't wrap my head around how much dinner is going to cost us.

Hi,

Can someone please clarify the room nights?  We have 26 of us in total.  Does that mean we have 182 room nights or is it calculated per room?  We have 11 rooms booked.

What exactly does the unlimited private functions get you?  Just the space?  We are trying to budget how much dinner is going to cost us.

Thank you!

Ok...if this post shows up 3 times I am very sorry.  But it isn't showing up on my end!

I have a question about the room nights - we have 26 of us in total coming and 11 rooms booked.  How many room nights is that?

What does unlimited private functions get you?  Is it just a reservation of space?

We are trying to budget for the cost of dinner and don't know what we are able to get with a private function.  Is alcohol extra when you have a private function?  We are at an all inclusive resort so I would think that the drinks would be free but I could be wrong.

Thanks,

Angela

Angela,

The room nights depend on how long you are all staying.  If all 11 rooms are booked for 7 nights, that would equall 77 room nights and you would qualify for unlimited private events.  Each private event includes open bar, a choice of menu and standard decor (tables, chairs, tableware and white linens).  Hope this helps.

Can someone please tell me more about the fireworks?  Do they wait until it is dark to do it?  If they do, are we sharing the fireworks with all the brides of that day?

I think they do the fireworks right at the end of the ceremony. Behind the table. There is a picture of fireworks on the my palace resorts wedding website. That was the main reason we chose to go without the package. The only thing extra we would get is fireworks and they almost seem like just sparklers.

Its just going to be a renewal of vows as we are getting legally married here the day before we leave so we don't have to pay for the blood tests. Does anyone know if that would be paid for in the package?

Thank you!

The ceremony fee is included with all packages, even complimentary. It's just an extra fee for a civil ceremony, which you won't need. I would check if you really want everything in the package. We found it cheaper to just buy everything separately since we are bringing photographers and flowers. Remember to read through this entire thread and the Moon Palace 2010 thread too and you will see why most of us chose the complimentary package with separate upgrades.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
