2011 Brides

Congrats to you and yours!!!!  Would any of you be able to help out a MP 2012 bride who just booked?  In regards to your contract I have seen a couple of post for those that didn't have a "group contract" so they didn't get the incentives (free events etc.).  Has anyone heard of this or have encountered this in your contract.  Two, if anyone has Janina as their Miami coordinator, would you mind telling me her turnaround time and/or best way that you found that work with/in your communication with her.

Thanks for your help.

I can't wait to read post-wedding post from you.

I think I will send a request for spa appointments today. At least the ones for me and FI!

I have Janina and she has been great so far. If you are just asking the basic questions and are not in a rush, just email her and she normally emails back within 2-3 days. But if you want an answer quickly, just call her until she picks up and do not leave a message. Janina always has a quick answer and doesn't have to look it up or call you back. :o)

I also have a group contract and my guests are booking thru our wedding link provided by Moon Palace. It's super easy and even if you don't have the exact amount that you put on the contract to make the free functionsat the end, Janina will just change the number to the actual rooms you booked even if its less than you originally thought (which still means you might get a comp night or cocktail hour for free) so it worth it. :o)

Hi! I just actually changed my contract from the Amber Collection to the Complimentary because we discovered the same things. Basically they changed the contract to the Complimentray package and wrote in the contract that our first deposit towards the Amber Collection is going to be used as a credit. So it's really easy and you already have a credit for things you actually need or want. :o)

Cheers,

Nicole

If we switch to the complimentary package it would save us about $1,000!

does anyone know?

Allison,

I just love reading your comments, sounds like I am going to be a similar bride as you were! My first request is the Tuscan Terrace and we are doing the gazebo as well. Thanks for all you help.

Did you make mini playlist on your i-pod for enterance, first dance, etc? Does the Tech make any announcments on the mic or did you have someone in your wedding party?

YOU are a rock star for helping us brides to be!

Thanks again!

We have a welcome cocktail party on Thursday, Rehearsal Dinner on Friday and Cocktail hour immediately following the wedding and then our private reception.  Since we had the room nights the events were all free.

We had a very brief outline of the ceremony but that was it.  The readers got their readings from the priest when the arrived at the chapel and everything else we just winged.  I would say that was my biggest complaint, we had everyone meet for a rehearsal and all they did was have us walk in and out of the chapel.  We knew nothing in between.  I would advise not wasting time on a rehearsal.

We could have added things like a Lazo ceremony or chosen our readings but we did not.

Our reception was on the Tucan Terrace and we had our cocktail hour in the Tucan Gazebo.  I don't know what the Bugumbiglas (sp?) terrace looks like but that Gazebo is much prettier if you have the option.  However I did love both our cocktail hour and reception spot.

We used JSAV audio for like $385 or something, it was just their lowest package for Ipod and speakers. It includes a tech who runs the music along with his Laptop with music on it, microphone, and 4 lights that were used on the trees surrounding the terrace.  We paid extras for the lighted steps and the laterns.  There is lighting around the terrace and these lights were not needed for lighting purposes, just decoration. We also paid for 1 square candle per table as centerpieces.  Once again, not needed just decoration.

What kind of decor/if any did you bring?

How much do they charge to set up your decor? Should I just ask a guest/friend to do it?

Did you just have the cocktail hour and private dinner?

Did you have a ceremony outline before arriving?

Were you able to add anything to the ceremony? Like readings, etc.

Thanks so much.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
