I'm having the same issue.  My fiance and I are not religious and would really like to change the script if possible.  Would you mind sharing yours?  I'm not exactly what it should say. Like what parts are necessary and what can be left out?  I wish they had a more secular version.

I just wanted to check on this, and get a confirmation?  Looking at the list of Wedding Optional Services 2011 there is a section for Private Functions:

Private Wedding Function

$400 per table of 10 guests

Event includes function space, menu, 2 hours of open bar service.

Additional hour of staff service is $60 per table.

Any ideas?  Is this optional services just a guideline or is there an extra charge per table for each hour over 2 hours?

You can definitely have time in between for pictures, generally your coordinator will recommend it. To book your private functions you can do it 3-4 months in advance.

I think with the symbolic one you can change as much as you want and have it be more religious.  I think they keep the religious stuff out of the legal one.  I remember reading on another thread with a girl that had a Catholic ceremony that they had to do the legal one first.  I was hoping to do a least a scripture reading.  Maybe I will just have someone randomly stand up and say one real fast during the ceremony :)

I want to come up with something too...just to make it more of our own.  I don't know if we will end up doing it but it would be nice!

We wanted to add a sand ceremony and will just have one of our guests read it.

Anyone have thoughts regarding the heat during late March?  Our ceremony is on March 24th.. and I am trying to decide where to have our cocktail hour.  I want to have it outside on the terrace, with umbrellas on the tables to shade.  I see that the avg temps at this time of year are ~85 degrees though.. and our cocktail hour would be at noon.

I'm a little worried about my in-laws and the fact that my husband is very anti hot-heat.

Our WC suggested maybe having the cocktail party in a ballroom that has AC.

I don't want to decorate a ballroom and was really counting on an outdoor party.  However..  I don't want it to be ruined b/c everyone is too hot to enjoy the mariachi and the food, etc.

Thoughts?  Anyone who has been there at that time of year and know what to expect?  Anyone seen a review from that time of year.. i'm still looking..

TIA!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
