People are crazy!!

All of my side, friends and family,is coming NO EXCUSES. It's a small close gruop. Abit of bitching because of the expense but they booked.

My FI side however, different story. His best man has no spoken to him for 3 months(guess he's not coming). Not sure why guess he's not man enough to tell us that he doesn't want to come because he is bitter about love.He got dumped 3 times by the same girl. He said he can't afford it but we know that's crap, he got a new job and told us his salary........he can afford it more than we can.wtf.gif

Another GM just keeps saying when I sell my house I can book.....he sold his house 2 months ago,no booking. And the other friends that said "i'll be there for sure" just quit calling....

I thought men didn't pull this craphuh.gif

Oh well we know the peeps there truly love and care about us!! Let's say F*#$ Y!# smile117.gifto all the others and have a BLAST!!

I agree with all of you... The worst is when they RSVP and then have not booked anything. I am gettig married in May and really need a head count lol... I just wish they could say "hey I cant afford it sorry". I rather that then people RSVP and then say "uhhhh I'll know if im going like in MARCH""" ... EHHH this is sooooooooo annoying...LOL sorry guys i'm just venting :).... Well Good Luck with all of you... I am about to start the calls like hey are you going or not... I'll be much nicer about it but you guys get the point.....

We told people upfront that we would completely understand if they could not make it to the wedding...it's expensive, travel, passport, blah, blah, blah...it's ok. The only excuse we have really heard is the economy...oh and my dad's initial reaction..."I'm not going!" which he is now booked to go, ha : )

Our invites are going out next week so we will see how the RSVPs go but we are planning on a small group of about 15-20 people with us & we are so excited for it. This is more about us, our celebration, and if I don't hear from people by our RSVP date we are considering them not available to join us.

Does it really matter if someone tells you they can't afford it? I think when you chose a DW... you have to accept that there will be a lot of people that just can't go... and that's okay!! Because it's the people that DO go that are going to make your wedding! There are quite a few people that will probably be last minute attendees... and that's okay too. Your wedding will be beautiful...and you will be surrounded by those that care about you.

  • 3 weeks later...

My lovely FI propsed on Christmas Eve and we decided to give us enough planning time to have our DW in October 2011, plenty of time for people right? I'm still gathering all of the information and pricing, but Saturday my brother (my only brother) IM's me to tell me he can't commit to my wedding, a wedding that's 22 months away... I was hurt to say the least, but at the end of the day my FI family is all very supportive and they are planning on showing up so if my brother doesn't come, it's his loss.....

indy,

I know it was heartbreaking for me, both my parents are alcoholics and although I'm the youngest in the family I've been the one to hold my family together, as sad as it is I am thankful because it makes me a stronger person and thats all I can ask for. My FI is an AMAZING person who came into my life and has been there for me and at the end of the day I'm so thankful to have him by my side =)

Just understand it ur wedding day no matter what. We had the early unboarders that never came thru. Two of my FI guys said yes and now just saying they can't come. My MOH told me she couldn't come two weeks ago. Look at my wedding date! In the end it is not about who is there or not there, it is about you two coming together to spend your life together...I figure as long as that happens then rest is lagniappe (extra).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
