we tipped the steel drum band, the waiters/cooks from dinner, the bartenders, and the DJ.

We were planning on tipping the minister as well but the day before our wedding we had our rehersal and we found out that his daughter had broken her leg that day so he was only there for like 10 minutes. He disappered right after the ceremony on our wedding day so we think it's probably because he was going to be with his daughter. Plus we had to pay him the $400 cash from the package so he got paid pretty well if you ask me lol

Thanks! It really was the most amazing week of our lives. everyones already asking if we can do it again next year for our 1st anniversary and we're actually thinking about it! lol. You will have such a great week!

lol my ttd is actually from sears. I was going to use my actual wedding dress for our ttd but then with like a month to go changed my mind and needed something quick and ordered that one for only $70 on sale! Up close the beading on the front was a little tacky I will admit  (and freaked out about it when i first saw it lol) but it doesn't show in the pictures so far, so I'm happy!

Yes - you can take your own decorations for tables, etc. I have that info in the package Chandlyn sent me.

Resort photographer is Digipix and I think the website is digipixltd.com  Just google Digipix Ltd. and it should come up.  Their website is ok, but I didn't like the look of his photos.

We have a photographer in Jamaica booked that I got from this site. He sounds great and his website is terrific. His prices are really reasonable and you have him for the entire day all to yourself.  I think we're also going to have him come early in the day and do some engagement pics as well. Not sure yet.

A word of warning for anyone still trying to get their travel group together, i.e. anyone like me with a November wedding. All of the tour companies - Transat, Sunquest, etc are all instituting a fuel surcharge. If could raise your resort package prices by as much as nearly $200 per couple. I know for us, for some people, that's going to be the difference between attending our wedding and not attending our wedding. I've asked that our trip quote include the new surcharge so that people get a real price, not get hit with another $200 bucks after they say yes. If you're still waiting for a group package quote, be sure to ask to have the new surcharge included. You don't want any angry guests that are pissed at you cuz you didn't give them the whole story!!

TMWedding2011, and acw271011, you can also add Merrick  Cousley to facebook, he has some beautiful wedding photos that he took on his facebok page too. I was blown away by them. I am getting married August 18th and we have booked Merrick for our wedding! He was the most affordable, you get more with him than with any of the other photographers that I contacted, he is great at returning emails right away, and you get him for the whole day for much less than other photographers charge for only a few hours.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
