I'm using one and so far I'm very glad that I am. She recommended a great resort, got us one of the last spots there in April and has been the one dealing with the resort end so that we don't have too. She's also managing two "groups" of guests as some are flying with one airline from one part of the country and others are going with another, and she's been the one to negotiate rates for these guests with both airlines as well as take bookings from my guests. The only advice I have is to be very clear about what you want and don't want- the only bumps we've had with our TA have been purely through miscommunication. She's been a lifesaver, honestly, I'd be going nuts without her!

I used a TA and was thankful I did. she helped answer all my guests questions, made sure they made their payments on time, and handled any issues we had.

Are all your guests leaving from Canada? If i were you i would definately ask a TA because i know traveling from Canada is a lot different from the US. From talking to girls on here, it seems really confusing. I know there's a TA on here that's from Canada, TA Lindsay maybe she could help you.

I found a TA who does only destination weddings and honeymoons. She's done it tons of times and I am so happy I went with her experience :)

We are using a TA, actually TA Maureen from the BDW TA's. She is awesome!! I certainly believe I would have driven myself batty by now if it were not for her. They help organize a list of those who plan on attending the wedding, get a great price quote, and can help you out with contacting the WC from the resort. I had a horrible time getting a hold of my WC and Maureen was able to help answer my quesitons and get the response quickly. They are a plether of knowledge and a huge stress reliever! :-)

We are using a TA. y family has used her for years and she gets us upgrades and great deals all the time. I also don't want to deal with travel arrangements for all my guests.

If you decide to use a TA, please make sure she's planned some DWs before or understands the travel business well. I used a TA that a friend recommended and have nothing good to say about her. In fact, I wish I sould cut her out of the planning completely. She is not knowledgeable, is not readily available and has created more work for me in the end. I have still been coordinating all the travel arrangements and been having to contact the resort myself. I have also had to coordinate all the payments. If I had to do anything over again, it would be not using her as a TA again. Or one at all.

We used a TA one that specializes in destination weddings and group travel. Its still early but so far she's been great, and deals with a couple departure cities for me.

Pre-Wedding planning before we got our TA was so stressful, there was so much research involved in finding the right place for the right price, and we just didn't have the time. Once we picked a location/country I insisted that we go to an agency even if it would end up just being a "window shopping" type of thing leaving us disappointed b/c we couldn't afford it. But I'm glad I did because we found out it wasn't going to be as expensive as we thought, and we were able to finally book something (even though we didn't like where the TA had us at first we were easily able to change hotels no problem). We were also able to get on a payment plan which was a total life saver! And we were able to make a package deal for our guests and they were able to get on payment plans too, in order to lessen the burden. We won't have to arrange for airport transfers or anything of that sort. They even assisted w/ booking the actual wedding, searched for actual dates available for ceremony, although we had to go thru confirmations and things on our own once the date was requested. The TA even made us an info packet type Save The Date for our guests via email. Our TA even saved us an extra $100 on plane tickets. They were a big help.

My advise to DW brides please get a TA. It will make The Wedding Planning Chapter of your life so much easier.

I just got off the phone with a TA and will definitely be using one. I barely have time to plan my wedding much less deal with booking information!

We used a TA in our area & it was great. She was able to share information about so many different resorts so we could make our decision. The best thing was...she has been to most of them so could tell us from first hand experience.
