Yay indeed! I'm super nervous and panicy, haven't gotten excited yet especially since I've been getting last minute cancellations that are making me super depressed.

I haven't visited our resort either, it opened November of 2008 so I've never even been near it!

I spent a day or two in Aruba, it's gorgeous and a small little island, very cute! Nothing corporate about it, very much reflected upon the people and their culture, I love it!

ugh. I totally hear you girls about feeling exhausted/lazy, avoiding things AND about losing stuff!! It sucks to feel like you're losing your mind!

I lost my victoria's secret card somewhere in our apartment. It probably got thrown out so I had to order another one, but it really bothers me cuz I never lose stuff. My head is all over the place, but partly because I'm in school & have exams, papers & presentations and am also planning a shower for a friend. And I haven't been exercising like I was last month either. It seems to be a wedding-induced condition.

I've never been to our hotel either. I was in PV like 15 years ago & loved it, but haven't been back since. Luckily I've read a ton of great reviews on this site so I'm not worried.

And I think we're also gonna have some no-shows. I just found out a couple people who supposedly booked a while ago really never confirmed/paid so they may be out. Why even bother telling us you're coming & have booked when it's not true? We're bound to find out eventually! I'm disappointed, but whatever.

Oh, and just to bring up crazy weather again - it was 88 here today in nyc! just bizarre!

I'm not so much nervous but just stressed. We have so much stuff we are working on with our house right now, work is crazy busy with a bunch of travel this month, and to top it off the "surprise" shower is coming up in a few weeks & I just found out all my FI's family is flying in for it, ugh.

I hear ya girls, I'm totally stressing out.. FI and I just moved into our first home last weekend, and we're still not fully unpacked, I feel like my life is in shambles... and I want to concentrate on the remaining things I need to do for the wedding, but it seems like my evenings go by so fast, and I'm staying up WAY too late at night unpacking things, etc and so I'm exhausted during the day... ugh. I'm hoping that on Saturday I can get really organized and tick a few things off of the to-do list for the wedding.

Karen, it baffles me why people will tell you that they're booked but they're not actually booked. This is why I refuse to put anyone who tells they're booked until they say they're booked at which resort and with what airline. A bit bridezilla, I know but it is expensive if there are no show guests!

Heard that it was hot up there in NYC. Crazy! It's so cool right here in Texas and I love it. It was getting pretty hot this week.

I did nothing last night except just sit on the couch and watch TV. I think I'm deliberately avoiding wedding stuff. It's just when I'm done cleaning up, cooking, eating and showering it's already 9 or 9:30 which is almost my bedtime! This weekend, I'm locking myself in and FINISH what I NEED to DO! Haha.

just curious, as our weddings are all getting quite close (yikes!), what everyone has left to do. i have a laundry list! big things for me include:

- planning the ceremony

- ordering food, beverages and planning decorations for the AHR on 6/12

- going in to get the marriage license and completing legal requirements

- finishing OOT bags

- planning music for ceremony and reception

i could keep going... plus a demanding FT job AND going to school - i start a new (writing intensive) class on saturday. it would be so much more fun if i could just do wedding planning full time - with an unlimited budget! :)

Diane - I would love to be a wedding planner and not do my job all day =)

Di- You are too funny with the couch business...I wish I could do that! I only have 9 and 1/2 more work days left. My last day is the 23rd and I have a day and 1/2 off coming up soon. Woo Hoo

We are still trying to design our t-shirts...it's taking forever. I hate relying on artsy people when they're busy =) A friend is fixing up or programs and then we still have to put them together. UGH!!

What's Done:

Suits

Girls dresses

Table seating cards

Table Numbers

Music

Bridal Party Gifts

My wedding band

OOT Bag stuff - rafts & sunscreen, still need T-shirts, lip balm, Advil (first aid kit) and then label them =)

Still Need:

Readers gifts (necklaces my girlfriend is making)

Parents gifts

PACK!!!!

My last fitting is next Thursday and they are playing around with the sweetheart neckline to make it tighter in the hest area...I am keeping my fingers crossed, that is my favorite part....

I am starting to get a little anxious, but not annoyed, stressed or nervous, which is good. My FI and I keep thinking of new things when we lie down to sleep and can't remember what we said in the morning =) hehe

Shannon & Diana - Man, I'm with you I don't understand at all why people tell you their booked or their coming or they wouldn't miss it for the world and then take not one step to actually try and come. Ridiculous. Diana I think you are just smart, not bridezilla at ALL. I wish I had done that, could have saved me some unnecessary upsets.

I am exactly one month away today... I don't even know how I feel about that yet.

I still have left to do:

Buy floating candles (I've been waiting for months to find out the size of the opening of the vases I'm renting)

Buy a few more frames for photos

Buy a few more items for OOT bags

Receive escort/placecards and have names written on them and do seating arrangements

Have 2nd fitting for dress on Monday

Trial hair appt a week from today

Wrap pashminas in ribbon

Re-pack a suitcase

Buy more clothing for Mexico

Make cd of pre-ceremony seating music

Get FI's wedding pants hemmed and my dressed hemmed

Find bachelorette party dress

Buy wedding clutch

Make welcome letter

Fill out thank you cards for wedding party

Complete our dance lessons and practice a run-through of the dance once a day

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
