May 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

GIRLS!!!! We're back, married, and everything was perfecto!!

Well, almost. We had a 26 hour layover in Houston from Wed-Thurs b/c the airport shut down and we were diverted to San Antonio for 2 hours, then back to Houston but had already missed our connection which was the last one that night. (Totally shoulda called Di!) So we grabbed a pair of underwear out of our checked bags, checked into a hotel, hung out at the Deerbrook (?) mall and saw a movie. Hey, extended honeymoon, right? Finally got back Fri at 2am, just a little exhausted.

But, aside from that the entire week was beyond anything DH or I could've imagined.

And Fer is just the most amazing, kind, genuine and ridiculously talented person ever.

He was rushing from our TTD Sunday in PV to another in Riviera Maya and threw up a couple teasers while at the airport.

Everyone's photos are so great. I still don't have teaser pics and I used two different photogs (one for the wedding and another for the TTD). Both said at least a month before I saw them. Oh well.

We aren't planning the AHR until August anyway. I think we are going to do something pretty casual like a pool party but may pick up fajitas from one of the local Mexican joints. So a cross between catered and do it your self. I can't wait to see photos from your AHRs for inspiration. :)

Have any of you planned a small BBQ type reception for when you got home or planning to over the summer? My husband & I have been talking about it but haven't made plans yet & if we do it would be very informal but I think mainly just to have fun and get our friends and family together.
We got married last weekend in Aruba and had quite a decent turnout but there were some of our friends who couldn't make it (2 are pregnant, 1 just had a baby, etc). We also just bought a house about a month ago so I'm hoping to a have a housewarming/wedding celebration/bbq in the next few weeks after we move in. I am too exhausted to organize yet another event unless it's in my own home LOL.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
