With that, around what time did your reception start? I'm a little concerned that with the time being pushed back, the entire wedding will be done with by 8:30 (1/2 hour for cocktail and reception lasting 3 hours). How did your time line work out??

Also, was your dance floor the one that the resort provides? It looks a little small, how did you guys feel about it?

thx!!
Thx

Honestly the timing ended up perfectly. The ceremony actually started a little late. We took pictures and then the guests began the cocktail hour - probably around 4:30-45. I ended up having the cocktail reception at the beach at the same location as the reception. I just thought it would be an easier transition and maybe a way to extend the reception. That was perfect. I'm pretty sure we didn't start dinner until around 6:00 or 6:15. Our reception was over at 10. They extended it a bit because we pleaded with the dj and the Royal staff. The timing was perfect and I was actually ready for the reception to be over. The dance floor looked small at the beginning, but really it was perfect. It always felt like there were tons of people on the dance floor and I didn't notice it one bit. That was just one area I didn't want to spurge on... so, I didn't and it ended up great!

HI Raffaele... I was so dissapointed, but I don't think he did get any photos of the lounge area. However, some of my family and friends did. I will try and post those soon. Thanks again for everything... everyone loved the lounge area.... it was my favorite part of the reception for me.

We are getting ready to book with Samuel Luna. I just want to be sure there haven't been problems getting prints once back in the States. I love that he gives a DVD of all the pics & doesn't make us choose.

I just want to be sure when we try to get our prints, the stores don't think the photos are copywritten. Has anyone had any problems getting prints?

Thank you!!

Hey guys- just wanted to let you know that Samuel shot our wedding on the 18th. He was awesome to work with, very professional and kind. I just wish there was more time to get to know him better! We don't have our pics yet but as soon as we do I'll share. I would definitely book him. Fantastic guy and his portfolio speaks for himself! All my guests really liked him a lot.

I finally got my pictures from Samuel last week. We are very pleased. We paid for the basic package of 5 hrs and got over 703 pictures (60 of which he digitally enhanced in his own artistic way). All our pictures are availble on his website (although not the friendliest to navigate). He sent us two DVD's with copies of our pictures via Fedex overnight. As I already said in my previous post he was great to work with, extremely professional but personable also. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting non-traditional wedding photos. My only complaint is we had to wait 8 weeks to see our pictures, lol

Your photos look lovely! I just got married last Thursday and had Samuel do our photography, and judging from the couple of pictures he showed me before he left, the pictures will be great!

I did mention to him that a number of brides on this forum were beginning to book with him, and he seemed really happy to hear that his name is getting out there more.

Hola! We used Samuel Luna for our wedding on May 28th 2010. It was a great decision that we are still very happy we made. Smauel was very responsive with the whole booking process and during the wedding was professional and extremely nice. You could tell that he has an eye for photography and knew what shots would look the best. He was great at letting us know small changes in our posing to make the best photo. My whole family loved meeting him as well. The only complaint that I have is that we have still not received a disc with all of our pictures and our online gallery is still not fully uploaded!!! It is coming up on three months since the wedding date and we are getting frustrated (well mostly me). We have our getting ready and ceremony pictures online but no reception or wedding party/couple shots. The frustrating thing is that as soon as we started e-mailing after the wedding, the responses took a lot longer....like a week rather than a couple hours later. It makes me feel like we have been forgotten or that our photos don't mean much to him, which he assure me wasn't the case. I would still suggest booking with him but know that it may take a while getting or even seeing your pictures. We were disappointed as the deadline was about two months ago and we missed out on sharing our professional photos with the family at our at home reception. As of now, we are waiting on an e-mail as to why the gallery didn't fully upload....it was said that all our pictures would be up by last weekend. My husband keeps on telling me, "it's ok love, at least have amazing pictures so far and know he is doing the proper editing". So hard to be patient after waiting three months and knowing that he is shooting more weddings without finishing the photos of brides who have been waiting months of photos!! I guess this is what happens when more brides find out how great he is and start booking him. Good luck everyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
