Welcome from one of the not so young as the rest of the brides. LOL. Yes we are here of all ages and coming from everywher and going to our dream DW. You will find all kinds of wonderful ideas, support and encouragment from these ladies (and odd gent too). If there is anything you need just post and I am sure someone will be able to help. Hello, and congrats on your upcoming wedding. The good thing about destination weddings is that you can go as formal and informal as you like. How about and ivory/white long satin, strapless or maybe with thin straps, flowing gown? I think it would give off a very graceful yet destination wedding look. Most bridal salons has a destination wedding gown section, I'd start looking there.

Hi Patti!

The best dress for you is the one you feel like a million bucks in. Don't let age categorize you into a specific style. This is your day, go dress shopping, try on everything, even dresses you look at on the hanger and thing "no way". If you can't decided post some pictures and we'll all give you our opinions too.

Congratulations and happy planning.

You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!!

My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY!

And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process...a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen!

CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning heaven!

Hi Patti

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your engagement. I am also an older bride, I picked a destination wedding dress. It is a Mon Cheri but I am sure there are many other designers out there that have destination gowns. Your wedding is sounding quite large compared to ours, there will only be two other guests besides my Fiance and myself.

Happy planning.

Dea

Welcome!! We are all ages on this forum, and everyone is a wealth of information for each other! I suggest you start looking in the Wedding and Attire section of the forum, people usually show off their dresses there and are more than willing to tell you what label it is!!

Again, welcome and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
