For our AHR we are doing a photobooth. We hired this amazing company and they have tons of props and frames. Totally awesome. AND when they print they print 8 pictures. 4 each side by side.. 4 for the person/couple to take home and a set of 4 to go in our guestbook and then they sign it. So its the best of both worlds!

Good luck!
that's another great idea... about how much does that set you back? i just emailed for a quote local to us in FLA.

Well, I've been frantically searching for the 50mL bottles of Appleton Jamaican Rum to give out as favors. I planned for them to double as escorts card also with a tag attached with table numbers on one side and perhaps a drink receipe to be made with the rum on the other. I received an initial response from Appleton about a week and a half ago but haven't heard anything since. I'm starting to think that this isn't going to get accomplished as easily as I had originally thought.

My second choice was a cookie bar. Nothing very tropical about it but....whatever.

Great thread! I'm at a total loss for what I want to do for favours at our AHR. I want to keep the costs down but there are so many cute favours out there. I love the idea of a candy buffet but it's adults only and I don't know if everyone loves candy as much as I do. Keep the ideas coming!

I made seascape gel candles, they weren't that difficult to do just some sand, seashells, blue die and gel. With 50% off coupons at Michaels the gel wasnt as much as I thought. I made 150 of them for $1.74 each. I also made matchboxes to go with each of the candles. Easy to do as well..I bought matchboxes from Dollarama (10 for $1), designed labels with our names, date and logo, printed them off on a full label sheet, cut them out and stuck them on. They actually turned out really well, people who have seen them so far thought I ordered them.

Great thread with some really great ideas! My AHR is 6 weeks away, mid-march and I have no idea what to do for favours. I was thinking maybe just some candy as I could pick some up on sale after v-day is around the corner. I dunno, does that seem too cheap? I really don't want to have a huge expense either though.

I also thought of the candy bar, as our AHR will be 2 days before Vday. My mother hated the idea and says it's not for a wedding (even though this isn't really a wedding!) but whatever. I found shot glasses for about .60 a peice which i think is a great idea, then we could fill the shot glass with M&M's or something. I was thinking of putting on the shot glass "I went to Scott and Nicoles wedding and all I got was this shot glass!" and then the wedding date! But I have to think of some other type of wording because they are not actually coming to our wedding.

I feel like with shot glasses alot of people collect them, and it is something people can hang on to and its not awkward having our name on.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
