How do you let guests know where you are registered?

Recommended Posts

Traditionally, word of mouth was the proper way for people to share this information. With wedding websites and such, it's become increasingly common to add information there, however, it is commonly done with a disclaimer (Your presence is the only gift we want), so as not to make your wedding seem like a gift-grab.

Proper etiquette says that under no circumstances, should you include this information with your wedding invites.

Shower invites are different, as they are intended to "shower" the new bride she would need to set up house, so a registry card can be included with the invite, but it is considered bad form to add that information to the face of an invitation.

I don't even know if we'll register, because I do not feel right having a shower (most of the people we invited are coming to the wedding and I would rather they spend their money coming), but if we do register I'll just put it on the website or let my mom tell people when they ask.

shitfan.gif I put the bloomingdales registry card in my invites. I had not discovered this forum before I sent the invites out. I am surprised that I did that though. I remember getting an invite with a card included and I thought to myself "they just want another gift" then a year later, I do the same thing.. shame on me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
