Self Tanner-Which have you used and liked?

I was always a big baking in the sun/tanning bed kind of girl, but since FI works in a skin cancer lab, it's REALLY hard to justify. I still go out, coated in SPF 45+, so it's not the same, so I've decided to try self tanners, and they are way harder to use than they lead you to believe!

The first one I bought was the Jergens natural glow foam....supposedly no streaks....LOTS OF STREAKS...I did learn that using a wet soapy wash cloth and scrubbing hard will take a lot of self tanner right off.

Last night I tried Sevin Nyne, which is Lindsay Lohan's new tanner - $35 - I figured Lindsay always has a good tan - it's a spray - seemed easy but today I looked pretty uneven. They do have an instructional video on the website, that I probably should have watched before I tried it. The color seems nice - I just did my legs for now bc I figure I can wear pants till I get it right or scrub it off!

Anyone have any success with this type of thing?

I've tried the Jergens Natural Glow and it was ok...didn't really notice a change and I hated the smell of the face tanner.

Then I tried the Equate brand from Wal-mart which was really cheap. I didn't really notice until people started commenting on my tanned legs...and thought wow it must be working wink.gif

I've also tried the True Blue Spa from Bath and Body, again it was ok, better than Jergens but still would try something else.

Apparently mine doesn't look very good - I came home from getting my hair done and FI said my hair looks great but the fake tan has to go : (

It's still uneven after trying to even it out this morning!

I'll be scrubbing it off tonight!

I've never been able to find a self tanner that i really liked so i've always ended up going tanning but this year i really want to find one that works. Since i dont know which i like, i'll let you know what i've tried before and disliked. I tried Clairins, Clinique, and Neutrogena. i looked orange with all 3.

Sephora has these towelettes from Kate Somerville that look pretty cool. Has anyone used them?

I like the Neutrogena aerosol spray.

I also add a little bit of Life Brand (Cdn brand) bronzing cream to my regular body lotion. Rub it in really well and use a hair dryer on myself for a minute. Even I can't believe how natural it looks - until it starts wearing off of course... then it gets a little patchy, but you just have to exfoliate really well and start over!

Or if you really want to go all out, try a Mystic Spray Tan. It's about $30, but usually well worth it.

Whatever you chose will require lots of practise! I have had my fair share of 'OOPS!' experiences!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
