Dreams Palm Beach?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

I was wondering the same thing as Jillbu11 about the different reception locations.

As far as I understand (for a group of 20 or so people), I can consider a reception on the beach, poolside or in one of the restaurants.  I am at the beginning stages of my wedding planning and will put putting a deposit down for DPB within the next week or so.  Any thoughts or advice or pictures that would help decide would be greatly appreciated!!  How did you all decide?
Thank you!!!

I think you need to think about what kind of reception you want to have.

You can go to the restaraunt but its not private and you can't have dancing. However, you don't have to pay extra.

If you want an outdoor reception you can either do beach or poolside. Beach is obviously beautiful  but you do have to put up with wind and loud noises from waves crashing. Poolside is still outside with less wind and noise but not as private.

Then the ballrooms you get private reception that is indoors. Don't have to worry about the weather.

So ultimately you just need to decide whats important to you and which type of reception you would like best. Good luck!

seattlebrew- just so you know you dont pick your location until you get there. they can keep note of where you are thinking but you dont reserve it with your deposit. i dont know why they have this policy i think its stupid because if you book yours in advance you should get first choice but owell.

Thanks for your help ladies!

This was going to be my next question about reserving your locations....this kind of makes me nervous that you don't pick the locations until you are down there!!! I saw on the facebook page that someone was stuck with a ballroom reception (which I'm sure is nice but she wanted an outdoor reception) because the other locations were already occupied.  I would just be very disappointed to go all the way down there and not be able to have an outdoor reception.  Now I don't know what to do?!?  Any advice on this issue?

Thanks

As far as selecting your location my best advice would be to make sure you get down there days in advance to have an advantage over another couple getting your desired reception location before you. Other than that, don't stress it too much as the number of brides who did not incur this issue exceedingly overpowers the number of brides who do.

For centerpieces I am doing 3 hurricane vases per table of varying sizes with submerged cymbidium orchids and floating candles. I'm also having table crystals spread out on each table. There is also a vendor out there called Grupo ilusiones that have great prices and have every rental item you might need for the big day. You can google the name and email the woman for a list of prices that you will have to convert to usd from dominican pesos.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
