Dreams Palm Beach?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies. I've been having a hard time waiting to hear back from Awilda (it's been about a week since I've emailed her) and I have a question that maybe you can help me with. I'm trying to figure out if Dreams is for us...I really feel like it is. I'm just wondering if anyone knows, if we get the Ultimate Wedding package would that include a private reception with dinner and dancing, and if there are extra charges involved? Awilda said that it wouldn't cost anything extra if we wanted to upgrade to a buffet but didn't give any further information. I would really appreciate any info!! Thanks in advance!

Hey Ladies, looks like we've changed TAs. After sending an email to a bunch of TAs, a local one come up with the best price quote so far. She quoted us at $1299 (taxes incl.) with SunWing! We are so happy with this new price. The 2-week prices are amazing too. Anywho, she also sent my pictures of the resort when she was there last year so I thought I'd share them. =)

Btw, although we are not getting married at DPB - we will be staying there from NOV 23-30, 2011.

Hi ladies! Just tying up a few loose ends, and then not much left to do before we leave! I can't believe we now have less than 3 weeks to go I'm SO excited!!

My wedding coordinator used to be Melani, but now I have Mercy and I got a really nice email from her assuring me they have all my information and it will be a wonderful day. She will be sending us our spreadsheet next week with our details.

One outstanding question I have is - do you know if we can book our hair and makeup appointments before we arrive? If so, do we book them with the wedding coordinator or with the salon?

Hi Ashmagoo, yes there are extra fees for a private ceremony and a dance floor. I think a dance floor starts at 500 for 25 ppl. If you go on the dreams website they have a listing of all of the extra costs. if you want to PM me your email I can email you the PDF file I have on extra costs. Hope that helps best of luck planning!!

Sandy I would definitely ask your WC to set up the hair appointments for you. I think that should something she could easily take care of. I know I would feel a lot better if I knew that was taken care of a head of time. I'm sure you know, but everyone says make sure you take a couple pictures down with you because everyone says the women in the salon speak little to no english! Best wishes on your wedding day!!

ashmagoo the package does include your private reception at your choice of three areas poolside, beach, or banquet hall. the dinner is for up to 20 ppl and an additional charge over that.  the package does not include anything for dancing, you have to get a dj that is extra and starts at 525 plus tax. you can get just a sound system and play your ipod if you like.  hope this helps. i opted to take the free wedding package and add on things i want because it was cheaper that way and there were things in the package i dont want like there photography is only 50 pictures and such. i would recomend looking at the pricing and seeing what is best for you.  when you add dinner to your wedding it will be the private reception.

Hey ladies,

I have recently changed my mind from Paradisus to DPB. Just wondering if there is a link to photos for the ceremony and reception locations, and like the flowers and centerpieces and stuff like that, I thought there was one on the website but now I can't find it anywhere.  I havent officially booked my date but am hoping for May 2012.  Thanks in advance!

What's everyone else done/planning to do for music before the ceremony? We're having a beach ceremony, and I can't decide how many songs I should have - one for the groomsmen, one for the bridesmaids, one for me? Or one for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, then one for me? I don't know how much time I need to fill...And are you/did you play music while guests were waiting for it to start?

Sandy - I was wondering the same thing.  Right now I'm thinking about playing music while people are seating and flowing into a selected song for when the groom & best man are taking their spots.  Another song for our flower girl & maid of honour and then one for me, hopefully that's not too much!!  What were you thinking?  I also know you went with Rick York, did you modify either ceremony he sent to you or leave it pretty much as is?

I was also wondering what everyone is bringing decor wise vs. adding onto the packages you've choosen.  I can't decide if it's worth it to DIY things like centerpieces, not really worry about it or choose from their selection and pay.

$100 per centerpiece (and not a really nice one) is way to much for me.

I decided to go DIY on these and bring my own.

I bought hurricane vases and tea light holders and will come up with what do with them - not there yet.

I have an army of people coming so I was not worried about how to get things there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
