Awesome ideas and you were very frugal and resourceful! I, too, want to get the starfish necklaces for my MOH's and can't believe you found them at Kohl's at that price! I'll check mine today. Thanks for all the great ideas! Hope everything ran smoothly :)

Thanks! You ladies are so sweet!

Here's something else I forgot to add to this thread... lol

DIY Sand Ceremony Kit

Tall skinny vases- $1 each at Dollar Tree

Jar on sale for $3 at Michael's

Colored sand from Michael's as well.

I soaked off the decal and added raffia and a starfish charm to the jar and I love how it looked at our ceremony! The air-tight seal helped the whole thing travel back home intact!

I was considering buying one of the $45 sand ceremony sets but I'm really glad I went the DIY route. :-)

Jamaican rum cake favors

We decided to give traditional Jamaican rum cake as favors at the wedding. I used the Vistaprint "business cards" with our logo on them as tags for each box, and my cousin in Montego Bay got a local baker to make the rum cake for us. My mom and aunt cut and boxed it once we go there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
