Wedding Favors for AHR/Send off Party?

Recommended Posts

I just had a question that I just am not sure what the answer is to. We are planning on having and AHR/Send off party a couple of weeks before our DW. It is a very very casual bbq/picnic. We are going to state that no gifts are necessary, etc (with appropriate wording), and because it's so laid back, we're not even sending out paper invites, we plan to just send out an evite.

Now, because it's so casual, are we expected to have wedding favors for all of our guests? Is anyone else doing wedding favors? I wasn't sure what the correct etiquette/protocol was. I really appreciate all of your advices!

We are having our AHR after our wedding but we aren't doing favors. I think its a personal decision. If you want to provide them for your guests, go for it. If not, I think that's fine too.

I don't think you need favors. I have never went to a wedding expecting a favor. Since your party is so casual, your guests shouldn't be expecting anything.

I don't think you have to have them, there always nice but if it's not in your budget don't have them. There are some options that you can do for a resonable price if you really want to have them.

We are, but our AHR will be a formal reception, this is what we're doing (there will be approx 200 guests, but we're going to do the wine stoppers 1 per couple):

and for all the kids, filled with jelly beans:

If we were having an informal AHR then I don't think i'd bother with favours! One less hassle, ya know?

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm glad to read that there are some who are doing wedding favors as well as others who are not. I will have to think it over, but I don't think it will be in our budget to do them. :-)

I am still trying to decide if I will do favors for mt AHR also. I think you could get away with something pretty cheap if you wanted, but mostly everyone is there to see you and not there for the favors. I don't think anyone will even miss them if you don't have any

    • We just had a destination wedding and both my girls were flower girls!  The dresses from princessly were perfect!  Lots of complements! Would definitely recommend them!  Very reasonably priced.
    • I just want to say I got the best flower girl dresses on Princessly. It was very reasonably priced, they customized the dress to fit my daughter and it came within a couple of weeks. My daughter looked amazing and so did her cousin (who also wore the dress). The company was so easy to deal with and I’m so happy I chose them! Here are a couple of pics!
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!
