Invitation Meltdown....I think I'm going to cry....

I agree with a few of the others- what program did you create them in? Illustrator and InDesign both allow you to convert the fonts to outlines so you don't need to supply the font- or change it. Let me know if you have any questions- I'm a mac gal! : )

sounds like something went wrong when creating the pdf ... your proportions shouldn't change at all, and your fonts should be embedded (if they were properly embedded, it wouldn't matter whether it was mac or pc, because the pdf is basically one image). i don't know what program you used or how you converted it, so i can't be much help.

if you have photoshop, and the pdf looks ok on your end, try opening the pdf in photoshop, flattening the image and saving it as a tiff or eps file (be sure to save it as a copy with a different file name, because once flattened, it will no longer be editable). then your file, fonts and all, will be just a single image, and anyone should be able to print it.

we designed ours on a MAC but we found a professional printer to do it. It wasn't just a printing house, it was someone who was set up to do that type of printing. I would do a bit of research on the internet on "printing press" in your area, and just call them to find out what they can or can't do.

I would suggest finding a local printer. I was considering Staples as well, but for 48c per side of a coloured sheet, I though it wasn't worth it. I found a local printer (through google) that was fantabulous and 14c cheaper than staples!

Most local printers will be more flexible with fonts, the guy I used did not have the tropicalBV font, but he ask that I just send it to him, so it worked out great!

Don't cry - this is salvageable!

Call around to find a professional printer who can print them for you. Explain that you have the paper and that you have created the job already. You should be able to find someone - most designers use MAC's anyway.

Good luck!

The pdf solved my font issues (I used almost only downloaded fonts).

If saving them to a pdf does not work, can't you try saving them to a jpeg, and then resizing to the exact size using photoshop elements or another similar software ?

I agree with what others have said about wanting to know what program you used. There's several ways we can work around this... I've worked in the print industry so I know quite a bit about getting stuff ready to print. If you want to pick my brain feel free to contact me!

As a side note, most actual print houses operate with Macs so they would definitely be able to work through your problem as well. :)

I would check online to see if you could find a program that could make it Microsoft compatible. I agree with the other poster about possibly printing them yourself....I lucked out yesterday and picked up a color laser for more than 50% off (Office Depot).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
