Wow! That's fabulous! Amazing! When your dress is done will it have the flower at the hip?

I don't think I will have them put the flower on the hip because I originally wanted that to be the only adornment on the dress. However I didn't realize there would have to be a seam across the front in order to create the drapes. So I had them put the embroidery there to hide the seam, so now I think it might be overkill to put the flower there.

You could always have them pin a flower on the hip to see what it looks like. I think a very simple flower might help blend the side seams together...or it could just be too much!

Here's the pictures of my reception dress I'm having gianinar make as well. The first two are pictures of the unfinished dress they sent me about a month ago. And the second two are update pictures they sent me last night. I like the applique on the shoulder strap, but the bottom of the dress just looks terrible now, and I'm trying to think of a way to have them fix it. It is actually supposed to be a combination of two dresses, The picture of the combined dresses is at the bottom.

The reason why I said u will be better off buy the original brand new or second hand is that...your dream dress 's skirt is made of handcut  silk organza layers, every dress is slightly different and unique.  it is hard to "replicate" and you will be probably disappointed (if you expect smth very similar to the original)

I wonder if they had followed your instructions and put the lace underneath the layers of the dress instead of ontop whether the dress would greatly improve? The applique on the strap looks fabulous! Did you ask them to cut it?

When I saw the first picture I thought the dress looked great and so promising in regards to an end result, the more updated pictures are still a very very nice dress just NOT what you were looking for.  Did you ask them to make it a short dress?  Like "atalanta" said, maybe if they had followed your instructions with the lace underneath it would look different too.  In no way do I think the dress looks "bad" I just don't think it looks like what you wanted..... I think the bodice is absolutely stunning and I love the 1 strap with the detail I am just very unsure about the skirt.  

 

If you want is short as it is shown I almost wonder if they add layers on top to make it fuller (on the skirt) and then the lace WOULD be underneath if that would help.....

I asked them to make the split in the front at mid-thigh and the back down to mid-calf
