My FI has a niece and a nephew that he is very close to and he wanted to make sure they were invited to the wedding. He also has a lot of friends who have kids, and we realized we couldnt just invite a couple and not the others. So now on our invite list we have the potential of 9 kids coming.

We have several nieces and one nephew coming, so we are planning on a family friendly resort with adults-only pools and areas so that if the kids are too much we can just hang out there. I went to Sandos Caracol in 2012 and stayed in the select section which had an adults only pool, and when we went to the beach there was an adults only lounge down there with a bar, snacks and internet access. That worked out pretty well for us, we never had problems with loud kids around.

I do think though that it is YOUR wedding and your choice. But whatever you choose, make sure the people with kids know without question what your policy is.

I stayed at the Sandos in 2013.  I wish the Grand Sirenis had that water park!!!

@@calgarybride2015 I loved the fact that everything was sort of secluded, so we only even saw the waterpark once while wandering around in the paths along the edge of the resort. Stayed away from the main pool and things were pretty low key. Loved the cat cafe, we spent our evenings sitting in the seating area next to the select lounge on the beach with a cat curled up in my lap.

I actually loved the loud music and lively'ness of the main pool!

When I went to Cuba we went to an adults only and this specific week was 60+ I swear to god LOL!!!!

So we wished there was some loud kids and music to entertain us.

We walked thru a bit of everything, and it was all nice.

I actually considered that resort for our wedding but their packages were absurd! WAY more than I had paid in 2013.

Hindsite, I am glad, I like to try new things. We are super stoked for the GS!

We hung out mainly at the bar there that is just before the pool hall and the buffets.  All those raccoons.  Massive resort though, our room was in the far back and it was a jaunt.

My FI wants us to do that, but I kind of feel bad inviting some kids and not others. On my side of the family the kids are all grown up. His 10 year old daughter will be there and his family and friends have kids but he doesn't want all of them there. I just don't want to insult anyone

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
