Well ladies I got WAY off track for about a month. If you look back in this thread some where you may find where I said I was getting back on track...yeah that was a big FAT lie! BUT the other day my wedding dress came (I bought a lovely maggie off a gal on Ebay) and I decided to try it on, it fit perfectly. I noticed that I looked a little different in the mirror but I couldn't understand how that could be possible since I haven't been working out or counting points. After PROMISING myself that I wouldn't get upset if I got on the scale and had gained a few I got on...andddd....some how I lost 6lbs! A total of 17! 13 to go and promising to get back to this gym this week! I will keep you all posted!!!

Keep up the hard work ladies, it will be worth it!

The most important thing to remember is don't dwell on the past or what you "should have been doing" or what you weren't doing or how you gained the weight or let yourself go. Just focus on the tomorrows and making the right choices and moving on from THIS moment! That's what I am trying very hard to focus on for myself and know that I deserve it!

Welcome to all of the new WW brides! The best advice I can give you to start off on this thread is just take one day at a time and don't dwell on mistakes, just learn from it and move on. Take every loss (even .2 lbs) as a wonderful success! Don't do tomorrow what you can do today... with dieting, 'tomorrow' never comes. I've learned that one the hard way! wink.gif

Ahhhh help! Need some encouragement please...I tried my wedding dress on last week and they had let it out when I first bought it...I had lost 9 lbs. at that point and it was still too small. Then I did ended up going over my points by a lot throughout the week (bad emotional eating lol). Now I've gained some back, my wedding is in less than 3 months and I'm very discouraged...guess I'll just need to get back on track! Good words of advice Vgirl...I'll try to use it :)

I really want to start doing WW. My friend just started and she lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks. If I am getting married next June, how much weight do you think I could lose by then? I am scared to go dress shopping because I know their sample sizes wont fit me!

Welcome to the BEST motivation thread!!

It all depends on how much weight you need to lose....most people lose around 2lb a week at the start, i think i lost 4lb in my first week, but thats your body adjusting to the new you! gone are the lazy weekends and takeaway each night, and in is exercise most days and salads!! So naturally your body is going to lose alot at first...but after time it will hit a point were your body stops losing...but you need to fight through it, as your body is probably losing in inches rather than pounds...then once you start losing again, its easy!!

Just remember...after 4 weeks it's a habit...try working towards 4 weeks of being good! setting yourself small goals is defo the way to do it!

Its a hard time to be starting, with winter coming...but just keep focused on that wedding dress!

I think a realistic target for your june wedding is 2st...because you will slip (we all do!!) and also with the festive periods coming up, you don't want to deprive yourself of treats, as then you will stray big time!

Girl, you've still got three months so make the most of it! You're in the home stretch so make every decision from here on out a good one. You can do it! Track every single point and to lose more quickly try to get some cardio workouts in. I used to hate doing cardio, but for me what worked is doing interval cardio. I do a 5 min. warm-up on the treadmill then run for 2 minutes, then alternate between a fast walk and running every few minutes. It REALLY helped me to drop pounds quickly and also made me want to eat more healthy. Wedding pictures last a lifetime and you have the chance right now to make sure that you LOVE how you look in those pictures forever :) You can do it! cheer2.gif

Well it depends on how much you have to lose. By next June I'd say you could realistically lose 20-40 lbs easily if you stick to it and are very dedicated to making it work for you. Even more than that if you have more to lose. Once you get the points down you can start adding more excercise to REALLY put you over the top! :)

I know!!! It's gone by SO QUICKLY!!!! I'm SUPER excited!! It's going fantastic! I've got my dress (still waiting for it to come in) We just picked out our bridesmaid dresses (still need to order them though), and I'm currently working on our DIY invites :) Since I've already sent out the STDs and reminder postcards I'll just wait until Jan or Feb to get final RSVPs. We already have a pretty good idea of who's going but there are a few out there that we are unsure of so we'll see. My family is notorious for doing everything at the last minute! LOL! :) How's planning going for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
