  1. Welcome to the forum. I love GBP! We stayed at Coba last year and had an amazing stay. Let us know what you decide to do
  2. I need some quick advice on what I'm planning to tip...my wedding is this Friday so a little over a day away. We are getting married on a beach just outside of Miami with 4 guests (plus our son so 5 total). It will be about a half hour ceremony plus pictures after and this was an all inclusive beach wedding package (included the ceremony, 100+ pics, arch with flowers, champagne and keepsake wedding plaque thing). Our coordinator is also the officiant and her husband is the photographer and they own the business. I was thinking of tipping them $50 and a thank-you card, but wondering if that is too cheap. I am having my hair and makeup done before at our rental house and have been told I don't need to tip a stylist not working in a salon since they already set their own prices and get all the profit. However I'm feeling like I maybe should tip for hair and makeup still (the cost is 160 for both) and was thinking of giving 180...any thoughts on this. Last question is for the photographer for the trash the dress photos we're doing in Curacao on our honeymoon. He is actually from the netherlands but was planning a trip to Curacao anyway, and booked a little early because he really wanted to do our ttd photos. We negotiated a price with him, and he will be driving us around the island for the photos as well. I want to tip him because he is going above and beyond but not sure how much. I was thinking 50ish...we do have a budget to stay on and already negotiated the price...thanks in advance for any tips or thoughts I get.
  3. Hi, welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of great information and resources on here. I was really nervous about the destination wedding too...but my wedding is tomorrow and now that it's here I'm so glad I decided to have our wedding this way Happy planning
  4. We are wanting to do this as well, but I think ours will be a ttd session. We're getting married in Florida and are going on a HM somewhere after and want to do the pics at our HM destination. We are looking into photographers right now.
  5. Welcome to the forum. We stayed at GBP coba last year and it was awsome!! We had full use of the tulum and akumal resorts as well. Our trip last year wasn't for a wedding but I'm sure it will be beautiful.
  6. Dislike usually...unless it's one of those days where everything I try on seems to look good. working out?
  7. Hi, okay...so I really like the idea of TTD and I decided on a whim to buy a dress online from a girl which I now have. The dress I'm wearing for the ceremony on the beach is very simple, and I plan to wear it for the AHR. I bought a big poofy dress for the TTD photos because I thought it would look really pretty for pictures. We are getting married in Key Biscayne (Florida) on Jan 15th 2010 and leaving on a cruise on the 17th to the carribean. After the cruise we are sending our son home with the grandparents and we are going on our honeymoon somewhere in the caribbean (not sure where yet). We live in Saskatoon, SK, Canada and are trying to decide where to do our TTD photos. Some issues I've come across are: getting the dress to the location of the photo shoot, finding a photographer, what type of location for the photos (we for sure want ocean pictures but are considering all other options), and getting the dress home. Some places we are considering for our honeymoon are Bahamas, Jamaica, Mayan Riviera, Puerto Rico... So I guess my question is what would you recommend for a location (considering transporting a big poofy dress) and how should we go about finding a photographer in that location. Here are pictures of my TTD dress...
  8. Here's the link to my ring (I think). I just signed up for photo bucket and am not really sure what I'm doing so someone please let me know if this actually works.
  9. I love my soon to be mother in law...and my FI doesn't have a sister so...I guess the future mother in law Would you rather take trash the dress photos in the ocean or the jungle?

  14. Thanks Veronica...I will give the intervals a try, I've heard it works really well!
  15. Ahhhh help! Need some encouragement please...I tried my wedding dress on last week and they had let it out when I first bought it...I had lost 9 lbs. at that point and it was still too small. Then I did ended up going over my points by a lot throughout the week (bad emotional eating lol). Now I've gained some back, my wedding is in less than 3 months and I'm very discouraged...guess I'll just need to get back on track! Good words of advice Vgirl...I'll try to use it
  16. Hey everyone...I love this game! That's a pretty high chance so no, I wouldn't get the vaccine. Would you ever shave your head for breast cancer research?
  17. Welcome to the forum! It took me a while to figure out where I wanted to get married, but eventually I decided and no matter where you go it's going to be great...good luck with the big decision.
  18. Just wanted to update on my own post...I got a hold of the company one morning and gave them my credit card info. to pay the deposit, but then got really nervous about using the company. I called and left a message as well as sent an email asking to please not put the deposit through as I would first like some references from the company (I should have done this in the first place). She emailed back and said no problem, they wouldn't put the deposit through and she would send me refs that day as soon as she was back in the office...it's been 2 weeks now, and no references. I have chosen another company foreverinlove.net which has been excellent. She responds quickly to email and phone and is very helpful and genuinely wants your wedding day to be amazing. Just thought I would update on this so other people consider the all in one wedding packages had some idea of what that company was like to deal with.

    Welcome and congrats!
  20. Sandra, I'd say just do it! A few times I've gone through periods where I've stopped counting and gone way overboard and when I decide to start counting points again I'm worried about what the scale will say. But...you know that weighing yourself is the starting point for loosing because once you are back on track each time you step on that scale again the numbers should be going down. You can do it! Good luck!
  21. We are planning to do our wedding the day before our cruise leaves (Jan. 17th) It will be my fiance, our 7 year old son and both sets of parents. I've been doing a lot of research for our small wedding. We want something on either Miami beach or Ft. Lauderdale (or somewhere in between). I originally chose to go with elegantfloridabeachweddings.com, however I pulled out right before the deposit went through. Each time I talked to the coordinator on the phone (who was not easy to get a hold of) she had kids to keep asking me to repeat myself (kids crying, talking in the background). She didn't respond to one of my emails, and another time she quoted me a price for decorations then said it was $100 more the next time we talked. She also said she would email me some references but never did...so I wouldn't recommend this company. I have also been looking at foreverinlove.net and they have some good references and she's quick to return calls and email. Tropicalmiamibeachweddings.com, celebrationwedding.com, and thefloridabeachweddings.com.....well that's what I've found so far (that I thought were priced well for what you get). Hope this helps
