No problem at all.  Nayeli was really nice.  She had everything organized when we met with her the day we got there.  I would just make sure she knew all of the things that were really important to you!!  The Lobster House is so pretty at night.  You are going to LOVE it.  For the ceremony music I made 2 cds.  One was with 3 songs...what the bridesmaids walked down to, what I walked down to & the song that we walked back up the aisle to.  They have a sound system out there that everyone could hear really well.  The other cd was 5 songs that I wanted to be played while everyone was waiting (they all had to be there at 4:30 & the wedding was at 5:00).  My Husband said that they didn't really play very much of that cd.  The cocktail hour was set up to be on the pier, but it was really windy, so most of our group just hung out where they were serving the drinks at the bar.  It is on the beach.  We were very lucky that it really wasn't hot during the ceremony.  It was overcast, so the sun wasn't beating down on us.  With the wind though, if it was sunny, it still wouldn't be too hot.  We all went barefoot on the beach for the wedding & all of the pictures on the beach.  It wasn't too hot at all.  Good luck with everything.  You are going to love the resort.  Congratulations!

How was Nayeli to work with?

We are gettign married on Friday and plan on having the reception at the lobster house too :) We have 45 people coming with us.

Can I ask what you did for music during the ceremony? Did you have the cocktail hour at the lobser house too? Also what time was the ceremony? and was it too hot on the beach?!

also, did you wear shoes for the ceremony? or did you just go barefoot?

sorry for all the questions, just getting excited!

Thanks again for your messgage and feedback. Congrats!!!

KRMiller,

Thank you for posting all of this information.  It's so nice to hear that you had an amazing time, despite a few minor setbacks.  When you have pictures ready, please post them.  We would love to see your wedding!

In regards to your reception, did you have centerpieces on the tables?  If so, did you bring your own or did the resort provide them?  I would love to hear how everything was decorated.  Were you happy with the flower choices for the ceremony?  Any additional info would be great!

Thanks and congratulations!

I will definitely post some pics when I get them back.  We had the resort do our centerpieces.  Nyeli had a book with a lot of different options & we just chose the ones we wanted.  I think 2 were included in the package & we got 2 extra since we had 4 tables.  The extras were $50 each, but I'm not sure if we were really charged for them.  The flowers for the ceremony were non-existent!!!  I didn't notice that until looking at pics that there was not a centerpiece on the table at all.  It was just a plain white table with the sand for the sand ceremony, which she provided.  We didn't even know we were going to do a sand ceremony.

I just want to add that I am very laid back & wasn't really picky about things.  I wish I would've cared a little more about the flowers & decoration.

Thank you so much for your review!  I am in the process of hoping to book at Excellence for May 2012. About the welcome dinner, if you dont mind me asking, how much was it? I am trying to see if we can do a welcome dinner as well.  Just dont know if the budget will allow it:(

Most of the guests said that our wedding was the best one they had ever been to.  They all had such a great time at the resort & didn't notice all of the little things.  DJ Mannia was awesome!!  We would definitely recommend him.  Everyone was up dancing the entire night.  We used Juan Navarro & he was amazing!!  We had so much fun & can't wait to see the pics.

We really did have such a great week at ERC.  The resort is the perfect size & always had fun activities going on.  I can't wait to go back!

Let me know if you have any questions & I will try to answer.  Good luck!!

It was only $20/person.  That included a ton of food & drinks for 3 hours!!  They just set up a buffet & there was so much food left over.  You can choose from 5 or 6 different types of food, like Mexican buffet, Caribbean buffet, etc.  It was nice to be able to have everyone eat together on another night besides the wedding night.

I'm so glad you asked about this.  I was meaning to write on here about them.  I would definitely NOT recommend them.  We got the gold package that included some pics & a wedding video.  We just used them to take pics while we were getting ready since we had already hired an outside photographer.  I think we got 24 pics that came with the package & we had a hard time finding 24 that we liked.  We actually bought some of my husband's sister & brother in law that we just happened to see on the screen to complete the 24.  There were a few good ones, but I am so glad that we didn't use them the entire day.  The pictures were all 5x7 & had a white border around them which made them look cheap.  The same guy that took the pictures shot the wedding video.  He was pretty annoying & was talking to us & some of the guests during the ceremony.  Right after we exchanged rings, he said, "show them to the camera" & other little things like that.  Our photographer that we hired was pretty irritated with him for doing that & because he kept getting in the way.  I just watched the video this weekend with my Sister & it is pretty bad.  It is titled "Our Wedding's Day"  It keeps going in & out of focus, but it is nice to have to show our grandparents.  Hopefully they don't get dizzy trying to watch it!!  I would've been pretty upset if I would've paid for it!!  Maybe they do a better job if you are actually paying for it, but I wouldn't want to take a chance.  We used Juan Navarro & he is reasonably priced.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
