I think you may have the 2012 minimums because you're so close to the new year. From what I understand, Nicole told me they stopped giving the 2012 paperwork out in March. So anyone that booked after that has the 2013 mins. Look at your contract from the resort, it will state your minimums.

        Hi everyone,

To answer some of your questions:  We didn't have a private reception because we only had 37 people.  We just had the semi private dinner at Uncle Tony's.  It was more like fully private because no one else was in there the entire time.

We used the resort's DJ and he was just meh.  He's fine if you just give him your ipod and have your playlist ready.  But if you don't, he doesn't have many songs available.  I was told he would be able to download any song he didn't have so I didn't bother bringing my ipod.  But after I talked to him, that wasn't the case.  So, after about a half hour, my husband ran back to the room for the ipod.  He didn't make any announcements or say anything at all.  If I had to do it all over, I would either bring my entire playlist and ipod or use someone else.

The only outside vendors we used were Roan Robinson for our photographer and Rashel Edwards for makeup.  Roan was great!  He did arrive a little late but that wasn't his fault.  The hotel was giving him problems with the whole vendor fee thing.  But other than that, he was awesome!  Rashel was amazzzzzing!!!  I highly recommend her!!!  She did my makeup and all 3 of my bridesmaid's makeup.  She was super sweet and did a great job.  The makeup lasted the entire day!

As for the timeline, the wedding was at 4:30, but didn't arrive there until about 5 since the photographer was late.  The ceremony lasted about 20 minutes.  After that was the champagne toast and picture time.  At 5:30, all of the guests headed up to the Bob Marley Terrace for the cocktail hour.  Dinner was from 7-8:30.  The cake cutting was right after dinner at the Steakhouse.  Then we went back to the Bob Marley Terrace for dancing from 8:30 until 10:30.  And then some of us went to the disco.  The whole day went sooo fast!  It was everything I imagined though aside from the crappy DJ.

Hope I answered some of your questions :)

        Hello Brides :)

I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the set up for the semi-private at aunt ruby's ? I have seen the private, and they seem to use round tables for the private receptions. However, the semi-private looks like they use the square tables to create rectangles ? Anyone know if they are flexible with the layout of the square tables ? I don't really want one really long table, i'd like to do a U shape so that everyone can see everyone.

Also, we are going to rent the steel pans band for our ceremony so we can do our first dances on the beach after the signing and champagne toast. Does anyone know if we can request songs for the steel pans band ? I'd like to use some modern songs for our dances, not just any tropical beat.

First of all, ignore my last message.  Rashel is going to send her assistant to me.  :)   In the meantime, I would love to give everyone the information I received from all three airbrush makeup artists I could find in Jamaica (if you know of another, let us know).  Also, BOOK EARLY!  Don't make the mistake I did and miss out on your top pick!

          Rashel Edwards' Assistant

Ok one of my usual stylist will be available as the wedding I'm booked for it
will be just makeup so the stylist is free. For the suites I will see if I can
tell nicole they are from my company because I'm usually free. The price is 70
for hair and 65 for makeup. There is a 170 base rate (bride's makeup and lashes
plus travel) its 5 percent off when I send the assistant and brides also get 10
percent off when they pay in full(70 percent refundable).  Or you can choose to
just pay a 30 percent deposit and pay full price with the five percent off. I
have a special 1000 dollars for 8 people hair and airbrushing but that is if you
          have so many people.

          750usd, I'll include all 6 persons. ( Normally it's for 4 persons. We specialize
In bridal parties, so yes we can manage the numbers. Check with the hotel to be
sure, but most of the all-inclusives. will charge a vendors fee.(Paid by you)
Ibero Star. Was not so bad (use to) thEy will usually say for the vendor to go
in, do the work and come out, but check with them, and contact me back. Thank
you, and take care, Debra Barrett.

Firstly, Thanks for the contact also I am available for May 4th 2012. Secondly are you working with a budget for hair and makeup? if yes what price range are you thinking about.
Normally my price for both makeup and hair styling is USD$970 break down as follows:

Bride Airbrush Makeup Travelling and Lashes $170
          Bride Hair $100

          Airbrush Makeup additional persons $70 X 5 = $350
          Additional Persons Hair $70 X 5 = $350

I normally cover the vendor fee if any.

I have a question because I am booking Rashel for my wedding. How did they say you had to pay your deposit because she told me to moneygram or western union it to her. I have heard great things about her so I definitely believe she is legit I just want to make sure that is how she takes her payments for the deposit normally. Thanks

I put my deposit down with moneygram online ... they did however stop my transaction and make me call them to release funds to her. They warn you about paying someone in another country, but I was fine with it. I've read so many reviews that I don't think there will be a problem.
