It looks like you had someone from you party officiate.  I wanted to have that done but have not heard by from N as to if it was possible or not.  Did you have a symbolic or legal ceremony?  I just didn't know if it was possible when having a legal ceremony.

Thanks in advance

K

We did a symbolic ceremony in Mexico and did the legal paperwork back home afterwards. You will need to use a judge or minister from Mexico to have a legal ceremony in Mexico. We followed the more traditional Mexican wedding format where they have 2 weddings, 1 symbolic (which is the most important) and the 2nd which is legal (and just the paperwork). - Of course it's all a matte of preference, and what you are comfortable with. We wouldn't have done it any other way :)

For those of you who used Adrian Herrera how was the communication before your wedding? Did you speak on phone? If so was he easy to understand? Did you communicate through email only?

If you used Juan Navarro how was the communication before your wedding? did you speak on phone? If so was he easy to understand? Or through email only?

Thanks

We hired Sara Herrera from Victor Herrera Photography, our wedding is in November and so far we are very pleased with the communication from them.  We have only corresponded through e-mail and always have gotten a response in a day or so, if only the resort was that easy.

I have not had easy communication with Juan Navarro. Sometimes it can take 7 days to hear a response. Meanwhile the Herrera's email back the same day. But this has only been my experience so I don't know if that's how it is for everyone else.

You did legal paperwork after getting back home? We thought about doing that, but I think we will do legal part before we leave, maybe a week or two before we go to Mexico.

We have hired Adrian Herrerra for our wedding in May 2013. I've been communicating with Hiram in their office and he has been a dream to work with so far! He's very responsive (no more than 1 day to reply to an email-usually the same day) and personable. I've been emailing him for the past month with MANY questions and he has been very patient and accommodating with me.

Yes, we were going to do it ahead of time but time ran out because we were so busy before Mexico. We had the marriage license already so all we needed was a 5-10 minute meeting to sign the papers with our witnesses.

We didn't realize this ahead of time but it was cool to do it after wards (for us), the paperwork signing felt like an extention of our Mexico celebration instead of having our Mexico wedding be a symbol of our courthouse paper signing. It's all subjective.

We used Adrian Herrea and Hiram (from their office) has been amazing to work with. Just recently Victor has also been helping to answer my post-production questions. They have always answered within 24 hours but usually within 12 hours.

The night before we left for Mexico I emailed them with a pay pal question and they responded right away and then about 6 more times that night (10pm) helping me figure stuff out. They are by far the best communicators I've had the pleasure of working with through this whole experience.

MsBliss---your wedding pics are absolutely beautiful!! I am 6 months away from my wedding at EPM & I feel so scattered with planning. I've been following this forum which has helped me tremendously with getting info and ideas. It's so difficult to get answers from N, I've been waiting on a response for over 2 weeks now! Anyway, I thought maybe some brides on here may know. How much does dj mannia cost for a 3 hour reception? Do the bride & groom have to provide their own ceremony music? Do guests have to choose between 2 or 3 entrees? Any info on these questions would be super helpful. I understand it's wedding season now & the WCs are prob really busy, but over 2 weeks to answer some questions?!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
