Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies! We are back from our May 3rd wedding at EPM! I have not had time to read up since it said there was over 140+ posts since I was last on! lol but I wanted to write a few things real quick.

Everything went well and was amazing. The 1 thing I would suggest for any May brides that is having their reception at night or even for dinner out side is to bring bug spray. The mosquitos came out every night at sunset. They only lasted about 15 minutes but were a bitch! We were on the Spice Terrace when dinner was being served & BAM everyone was getting attacked. The staff we had were so great & I couldn't have asked for better. Our head waiter in charge(forget his name) brought us out a bottle of bug spray even though we only needed it for 15 minutes.

We had N as a WC through email but actually met with Alex (who was very nice) but we only saw him for the ceremony & after to escort everyone to the cocktail hour...When we arrived with our photos to the reception area (who were also amazing - Moments that Matter) no one was there. We were supposed to walk in to a song & be announced but we were just standing there & decided to go in. So we basically were never announced..no biggie. I think everyone knew who we were haha.

They saved out cake for us but FYI they only save it for 3 days because of sanitary issues. You can also order it in your room or at any restaurant you go to. We found this out on the 2nd night when we went to Spice for dinner and had our same waiters! So we thought hey lets see if we can get the cake. They brought out the entire cake that was left. It was awesome but I wish I would have known they keep it for 3 days. I am just glad we got to enjoy it one more time! :)

Our cake flavor we choose was tres leche(SP?) & it was awesome!!

We were there for 10 days and the weather was perfect. No rain ever. We actually had a few clouds on the 7th day for about 2 hours and it was a relief! lol

Will try to post pics tomorrow & if anyone has any questions let me know.

Trip Advisor is a huge help. It allows you to read reviews and look at 1000s of real live pics travelers took while at the resort. Maybe this will help.

Maybe MsBlissMpls or lliaPSU could answer my questions that I posted earlier today...? I'm still new at this:) TY:)

That mist have recently changed because it wasn't. Maybe of ur not getting the gold or silver package its extra. Hopefully this is not the case.

So have any of you recently got cake info? I got one yesterday, and it seems to be 2nd and 3rd tiers are extra. The price is really steep. I'm going to verify with the WC. What a bummer!!!! >:(

Welcome back!  Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!

I'm concerned about having my wedding reception outside because of the mosquitos.  Previously when I've been to Cancun this has never been an issue...but maybe it's the resort?  Which space would you recommend that's indoors or partially indoors??

Does the Ceco Terrace have a place to eat inside?  I like the Ceco Terrace & Lobster House the best from what I've seen...

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time!  Congratulations.  I have a question about the mosquitos.  When I've been to Mexico in the past, they've never been a problem.  Maybe it's the resort?  Do you have any recommendations for our dinner reception that's either partially indoors or completely indoors?  We liked the CECO terrace and the Lobster house the best...

Congrats!

We were there the week before you and had NO issues with mosquitos except when we had dinner on the Chez Isabelle terrace. I think the mosquitos are only a problem in the higher areas? It was crazy.. in the 10 days we were there, we only saw mosquitos there.

I'm glad your wedding went well! So happy for you! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
