  1. Thanks! We did a few fun group photos right after the ceremony and then did the cocktail hour (we really wanted to enjoy the cocktail hour with everyone), after that was the "freshen up" hour and then we all met for dinner. You'd be surprised how exhausting it is to be in the Mexican sun at 3:00pm. The little time out before dinner was much appreciated by everyone - Although some ppl just kept the party going at the bar - which was fun to hear about later.
  2. Not ruined at all! I was SO happy to get it back from the cleaners. I got a discount for cleaning because it was in such good shape compared to the other dresses that she normally cleans (which did not experience a TTD). The sad thing now is that I want to wear it again, but was told to only touch it with the white cotton gloves they gave me to shake the dress out twice a year. So sad. Definately have as much fun as you can in your dress before it goes in the box!
  3. Ha! Yes, the dress had a mind of its own! But I was all adrenaline and excitement so I was taking control of the situation Thanks!! I seriously can not pick a single Favorite. I'd like to print some to canvas so we can hang them but I don't know what to do! Guess it's a nice 'problem' to have Thank you for your kind words!
  4. The fram is from SayAnythingDesign, here's his link: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/73551243 This vendor is really really really great to work with. He makes everything himself and is very good with communication and the quality is the best.
  5. I bought the bags from this etsy seller PersonalizedGiftsbyJ Here's a link to her site: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/73922024 They were $88 for 11 of them. I gave 1 per couple rather than 1 per person.
  6. My husband wanted me to walk down to "Simply Satie" Michael Dulin (Timeless) He randomly heard this song on Pandora during a meditation that he was doing and said right away that he would love to see me walk down the aisle to this song. How could I disagree with that? So sweet. The "aisle" was llooonnnggg, so this song was perfect. We had it timed so he turned to see me at a special part of the song (1min.01 secong). Now my husband has this song as his ringdown for his alarm clock. We get to hear it every morning when we wake up. I love it! Not sure why YouTube has mixed birds overriding the music, but if you buy it on itunes you can hear the piano music and it is beautiful.
  7. We rented tiffany chairs and they charged us $50 to move the chairs from the ceremony to the reception. I'm not sure but they may charge you to move items from the ceremony to the reception, however maybe you'll get lucky and they will just move the sashes for free! That happens sometimes as well
  8. Seriously. I LOVE IT! Now I wish we would have brought our custom topper to the TDD. Those photos are super cute.... but then I'd just have more photos to narrow down as I'm trying to decorate our walls with our TDD photos. Currently I'm in an awesome photo coma. I can't decide which ones we like most. Cute Cake Topper idea!
  9. I would ask her if that includes the lights. Another bride paid $100 to have them set up 20 lanterns, but also included the lights.
  10. Thanks Arch713! Yes, I'm in Mpls. Congratulations to you and your upcoming wedding!!!! Destination is the way to go for sure, you just can't get those amazing colors and huge ocean here in MN
  11. There was never a question of "if" we would do a Trash the Dress Session. Once we saw the Del Sol Underwater photos we KNEW we NEEDED to have this experience! And the experience it was! The cenote photos were both magical and mystical. These cenotes are so sacred and being in them is a blessing - It shows through in the photos! Our beach photos were fun and energetic and pure LOVE AND BLISS. Here is a slide show we just received of our adventure! I can't stop looking at these photos and now I can't stop searching for other people's underwater photos as well! Please share your links or individual photos if you are so inclined. I've seen some on this site already, but I'd love to see more. We were so lucky to have the talented and energetic Debora of Del Sol Photography take our photos and her assistant was the beautiful Sol Tamargo (seriously the most beautiful women we have ever met). Our day was amazing and these ladies are truly the best! We haven't even received our full gallery yet, but based off of these photos we know we are doing a 5 year anniversary shoot with them again. Not only that but we have friends that are now starting to save up to do their anniversary photos shoots with Del Sol! Our friends are already looking for their "anniversary water dresses" Apparently having fun in and under water is a sickness and we're spreading the bug (in a good way) http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=704
  12. Originally it was supposed to be set up like a bar, people could go up and just order what type of taco they wanted and walk away with it along with a couple of sides on a plate (like how you woudl go up to a bar and order a drink). But it ended up being a buffet. More work for the guests, but still very tasty. The idea of the "bar" was so that it would keep the atmosphere casual and easy going (as people got hungry they could go order their food), instead of the typical sit down style reception with plated food or a buffet.
  13. Yes. Just a plastic bag and then I showered it off again once we got back to the resort and let it hang to dry on our balcony.
  14. Thanks georgiasl! I actually had a "1st dress" that was simple and very beachy (because that is was I thought I was supposed to get), but after I got home I started to cry because looking at the photos I didn't feel like the dress said "bride" but instead to me it said "pagent contestant". I called the wedding shop and they said I could come in the next day and pick a different dress as long as they could cancel the order that they had send to the designer. It all worked out and when I tried on MY dress it felt perfect and everyone I was with said my energy changed right away. I stood taller and smiled bigger. That's how I knew it was the dress for me! Happy dresss shopping! Here's a photo of my first beachy dress that was returned...
  15. We used a Del Sol for the TDD and they sent transportation to the cenotes and the beach. I heard that others paid a room fee so the photogrpher could stay overnight and then did the TDD the day after. No Vendor fee needed if you pay for them to stay a night.
  16. I'm so excited we are booking a trip to EPM for December. We need a "DO AGAIN" It will feel like our honeymoon being the craziness of the wedding will not be joining us this trip
  17. Your photos are so beautiful! I love love love your day! The details and the color of the shots are so wonderful. In retrospect I reallly wish that we would have hired 2 photographers There were some details that I assumed would be captured in photos and we didn't get them - I think we would have had them if there were 2 photographers. The details from MTM are all wonderful. Congratulations!
  18. Congratulations! Everyone at the Victor Herrera Studio is amazing. I think I've talked to everyone throughout our photo process. Thank you for the compliments. Adrian and Uriel were the people who shot our photos and they were so sweet and just amazing. I'd suggest making a place setting for them at your reception, because by the time you get to dinner they are like family
