Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

I 100% agree and unfortunately they are not allowing me to use them. So now I have to deal with trying to cancel & get our deposit back & find someone else...

:( Very upset since I love their work.

This is absolutely ridiculous! I'm so happy that I was able to use Del Sol to photograph my wedding and didn't have to go through these problems. In all honesty, when I had my sit down with Yamina and informed her that we would be using Del Sol to photograph our wedding, she had a sour look in her eyes. I'm not sure what the outlying issue is between Del Sol and EPM, but I don't think EPM or any Excellence properties should be able to tell you that you aren't allowed to use a certain photographer for the most important day of your life. These will be YOUR memories, NOT there's.

Honestly, if I had ran into this issue, I would have dropped EPM and found another location before I dropped Del Sol. Del Sol was nothing but professional and my photo's will be the only thing that I can carry away with me from that special day. I couldn't have imagined using another photographer for this day.

I hope everything works out for you ladies!

Hey guys!

Sorry to everyone who is having photographer troubles, I feel like service at the EPM has just dropped by 100%! I still haven't gotten answers from Ilena and I am this close to hoping a plane and tracking that woman down myself!

I am planning on using Sara Herrera from Victor Herrera photography, she is really reasonably priced and I get her for a full 8 hours! They have been really great to work with so far and Ilena has given me the offical go ahead with them so they are okay to use at the EPM!   http://www.victorherrera.com.mx/photographers/

Just thought I'd throw that option out there for anyone who needs ideas! Hopefully I'll be back on here with answers from Ilena soon. I'm getting married there in just 3 weeks, so I hope things work out!

Does anyone know when the new coordinator is going to be hired? I though Ilena was only filling in the meantime to help out since she is the Manager. I do hear back from her but it usually takes about 4 days so it is not to bad since we have months left to plan but I know if I was three weeks away I would be freaking out!

Stefkva ~ This is what was on the Excellence website, hope this helps! :)

How far in advance do I have to arrive for my civil wedding?

You must arrive three business days prior to your ceremony to meet residency requirements for a legal wedding. Both bride and groom must be at the resort by check-in time (3 pm) or earlier in order to consider day of arrival as the first day. Please note that  Saturday and Sunday do not count as a business day.

Hello all... I was married at EPM on May 28th...as far as what is included for the ceremony, I had a few conflicting answers going into it but ended up not being charged for things I had planned to be charged for- We purchased the gold package- and had covered chairs, a table with flowers, the sound system and bamboo setup with white fabric for the ceremony. We went into it thinking there was a $200 charge for the bamboo set-up and it was unclear about the chair covers but we were not charged for them- we just wanted whatever chairs were included with the package and it ended up being the covered ones. I know you have to pay for ribbons or flowers on chairs. We were told that we could do a Bon-fire for a rehearsal for $400 and I think $14 per person for drink service and appetizers....we didn't do it. For our reception dinner all white linens are included and table set-ups. The centerpieces aren't included (maybe one is with the gold package) we opted for a few bud vases at each table with one or two blooms in them. And we were not charged because I didn't use any of the other included flowers besides my bouquet and the flowers on table at ceremony. I can't believe the problems people are having with EPM now...I feel really badly that you have this added stress. Just make sure that you keep all of your email correspondence and bring it with you. I can't believe it would be worth it to EPM to get all the bad press. We went through a travel agent and I would suggest for a group to do that as well in order to get things like transfers included and other perks depending on size of your group. Plus you can keep in touch with one person to see how everyone's booking is going and how many are booked etc. We had to pay $100 down for each room through contract and just had guests mail me a check as they booked to get reimbursed. They were fine with it. I would be curious to find out what the banned photographers had to say about this relationship turning sour so quickly? Good luck!!!!

Ladies~ I need help! Grooms outfit- Khaki versus linen- I want him to wear a white long sleeve shirt, with pants & go barefoot.... doing the "smart casual" look, I've heard that linen wrinkles really bad! So I can't decided, any suggestions/opinions & where to order from? (P.S. My fiancé has a pet peeve, & when it comes to buttons on the shirt, he likes them to be more white & not look yellow/ or dirty like he says, haha!! ) thanks beautiful ladies!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
