Dreams Tulum Closure (consolidated thread)

Recommended Posts

I don't think they know what's going on... Its mostly out of their hands. I suppose if they're giving you the option they're saying: there's a chance you may be moved, we're hoping you won't have to but there's no guarantee. SO if you want the piece of mind of just knowing then take the option to move. OR roll the dice and wing it and see what happens closer.

at least that's my interpretation. I hate that we have to interpret though. I wish they would just tell us exactly what they know... UGH

i'm not sure if everyone else has seen this or not but for us brides in the beginning of november it is not looking too good....

"Since we do not yet have an exact date of resolution, we will not take unnecessary chances or last minute decisions and will relocate all arrivals up to November 15th. The resort team will continue to work hard in order to immediately provide and inform you of the protection of all bookings up to that date. All efforts will be made to protect guests at other Dreams Resorts & Spas and Secrets Resorts & Spas in the region when possible."

this is right off the dreamsresorts.com site under tulum just click on important announcement!

This is ridiculous!! I'm sooo ticked off that I don't know who to take my frustrations out on anymore. My FI is getting the brunt of it as is my mother.

I'm sure we all have other things on our minds as well.

I'm supposed to be closing on my condo 2 weeks before we leave wich means I have to be packed and out of this joint. Not to mention, we haven't found a new place to live!!!!!

I work in finance which means that I have to work hard enough not to get laid off in this market (we laid 3 peeps off today).

I have two bridal showers coming up in the next two weekends that I'm being told I haven't registered for enough yet.

My FMIL is driving me crazy about the AHR in the end of January. Actually, probably she isn't I'm just super sensitive lately. I just am having a hard time making decisions on things that are supposed to happen after this whole DW shindig.

I haven't been sleeping more than two hrs a night on account of this wedding garbage I suspect.

Sorry girls, just venting after 3 glasses of vino. I'm just mad that I can't control anything that's going on and I'm a total control freak......

Hope you're all hangin' in there and doing better than I am.

sorry for the debbie downer post, I just wish we had more concrete information. I know we can't control what's going on in the courts down in Mexico but I just wish we were getting more insightful information.

Dont apologize!! I think we are all feeling the exact same way! I know I am. I haven't slept much since this all started and I had a moment today on the phone with my parents where I completely lost it. Its really hard to just fly by the seat of your pants with your wedding. I dont think anyone on here is going to mind bridezilla posts because we all do it at one time or another!

Ladies - I can deffinetly see all the stress and that's sooo much of how I was feeling when I found out about the mess two days before we left - My pc is sick with a virus and I had to bring it to the techs yesterday - as soon as I get it back I will post my pics - as many as I can of the 600 pro ones anyway - I want to show you what an great job the Dreams Cancun did for my wedding - everything was so pretty!!! They were able to do any flowers I asked for - any food any table set up it was all not an issue.

All of our friends were very impressed with the resort as well. - Sure it's not a remote location like Tulum - but instead we made the best of it and did something we would have NEVER done - we went to the clubs together with all of our friends. I would never have been able to do that in Tulum.

So there will be great light at the end - once you are down there and over the shock and all the plans are in place - you will trully enjoy your stay and your special day -

Till I get my pc back up - if you have any questions please let me know - I want to help any of you stressed out brides in any way I can. I know that this is supposed to be a very special time for everyone so keep in mind that it will end up that way in the end.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
