We're hoping to sign our contract with cabo del sol in Feb. and we'll send out the save the dates as soon as that is confirmed for June 2011. We're doing passport save the dates that are being designed by "serendipity beyond design" so the save the dates will be full of info to allow our guests to know exactly what to save and when to start booking. I figure the sooner they are out the better.

I am so wishy washy! My favorites this week are Sandos Playacar (love the wedding setup and aisle), Dreams Puerto Aventuras (really want on-site snorkling), and Iberostar Tucan (all the critters everywhere are too cool)!!

As for dresses, I actually bought mine in October! I was only engaged 2 whole months before. My mom and I went into a store next to where we were just to try on dresses and play. It fit perfectly and I couldn't leave it in the store! So now I have to put it on monthly to regulate my eating habits LOL! So far so good.

Love love love it! I'm probably the only person to have a wedding dress for a wedding that is still a year and a half away! lol
Don't worry, you aren't!! I did the exact same thing. And my dress actually came out at about $450 with taxes and all. smile29.gif

Hey Ladies! I am glad to find this thread. Sometimes I feel like I am a bit crazy to be planning things so far out but I am glad to find that I am not the only one! I finally have the location decided but don't have anything booked yet so dates could still change. I have just started talking with TA Lindsay from the forum too and am so happy to get advice from someone who has done this themselves!

It is hard to be patient but I am happy to find all of you to wait with!

Me too!!! I have fallen in and out of love with several different resorts already so I don't want to have my dress too long so that I start second guessing it too!

We too have fallen in and out of love with resorts. It's so hard!! And we get so influenced by the latest reviews on trip advisor... even though we know not to base everything on that. At least so far we are only wavering between two resorts, not more. Have you made a final decision for your resort?

I was not expecting to buy a dress for about another 6 months from now. Never was the girly girl and didn't think I'd find "THE dress" like everyone says. Who knew? I was so wrong. You'll end up finding the one you don't want to take off after you decide to start looking. Since I did that already, I'm not allowing myself to go to another dress shop or look at dresses online unless it is the "show us your dress" post on this forum! LOL.

They all sound so great and you read great reviews and then you hear one negative and you start to question your choice!! I have decided on Puerto Vallarta with an off resort wedding so I feel way easier about making a resort decision knowing I am not depending on them for the wedding to run smoothly. We are thinking Dreams Puerto Vallarta though to stay at as they seem to have the best beach around there. What two are you conisdering?

2011 Bride here - Moon Palace, Cancun! I was planning to send out save the dates as soon as we were able to book the wedding. Even though they told us months ago that the contracts wouldn't be ready until Jan 2010, they emailed it to us last week. We've secured with a deposit, so now that I have a confirmed date, we will send out STDs in Jan 2010. We will also include the wedding website link (I've been building the site for months now and there's TONS of info on it), and our TA's info. I'm loving the passport STDs but as a newbie, I can't download any templates yet. =(

Any suggestions, ladies?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
