I'm doing the real deal.

thanks for the input on the dresses ladies! :)

trying to come up with a colour scheme. and having a very hard time. i'm really not into the whole tropical colour for dresses. other than really blue.
I think little black dresses would be great, there's no reason you couldn't go with them.

We're definitely going to the courthouse we plan to go the day before we hop on the plane actually. We also aren't telling anyone, to us it is just paperwork it's not our wedding we won't kiss exchange rings or anything like that. Neither of us wants to deal with the bloodwork and stuff in Mexico and it takes months, sometimes a year to receive your documents from MX after your wedding.

I think black would look amazing on the beach if it if short dresses. A good contrast to all the natural colors out there and it can work for any season.
Im doing Sandos Playacar too - oh I hope you pick that one.....lol ...Im a little biast!

Yay! So glad not to be the only bride with a 2011 wedding date! Its sooo far off still but its never too early to start planning and dreaming! So far I've done what you ladies did, started collecting pictures and ideas and marking browser pages. I also picked up a few wedding planning books and have been reading through those and lots of magazines! Decided on a destination (Riviera Maya) and now trying to choose the right resort (leaning towards Excellent Riviera Cancun). TA Lindsay from this forum is already working on quotes for me (she's fantastic so far!) and I'm so excited I just want to get it all planned pronto! Its hard to be patient...I'm sure you ladies can relate!

Where/When is everyone getting married??

ooo forgot to mention...I also bought my wedding dress!! It was accidental, in that I had just started shopping, but I found 'the one' and if i didn't buy it off the rack i wouldn't have been able to afford it at all...its a fabulous a-line with a sweetheart strapless neckline and is entirely ivory Spanish lace. Love love love it! I'm probably the only person to have a wedding dress for a wedding that is still a year and a half away! lol

My co-worker has also bought her dress for her summer 2011 wedding, guess it's not too early! Makes me feel like I'm a bit behind, I don't even plan on starting till Feb, 2010 (getting married Jan 2011)

AmyW I am also getting married in January 2011 and I haven't started looking at dresses yet either. Really the only thing I have done is look at resorts and getting ready to send in my booking form to them to save our wedding date...and I'm almost done putting together my message in a bottle save the dates...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
