Am I just having a bridezilla moment?
omg- I have been having the same thought! I want a head count but it aint gonna happen. My friends and Fam are wesome but we are procrastinators. I basically forced my parents and sister to book even though they were thinking it was too early. I think people are just hoping for flights to go down...

Fyi- I don't think it's b-zilla of you unless you throw a tantrum when you ask them. :)

Hi girls!!! Wow you're all so prepared!!!!! I thought I was being too eager ... but apparently I'm not being eager enough! LOL

Done so far:

Destination & resort picked: Cuba, Melia Cayo Guillermo

Wedding date: May 14, 2009

Deposit and reservations made with TA for 27 guests

Wedding website designed and up

Boarding pass STD/Invites sent out in early August

Wedding dress found and purchased! At home in my closet!!

MOH dress found and purchased - on order to arrive in a few months.

OOT beach bags found at La Vie en Rose $4.99/bag

Photographer booked/paid for - Doss Studios

BD photographer date booked - Doss Studios

Um, and that seems to be it ... hmm ... it felt like I had a lot more done! Yikes.

Still to do:

Decide on destination decorations

Choose a cake style

Choose hair

Choose makeup

Find a flower girls' dress

Choose flowers

Choose jewelry

Find shoes for the beach and for the reception after

Choose reception location at resort

Make list of must-have photographs

OOT bag contents

Groom's clothing

Best man's clothing

Wow ... that's a lot. smile27.gif

i feel like a big ol' slacker!

what i have done:

chosen resort

wedding date confirmed

deposit on wedding package/contract

secured travel agent

booked our trip/accommodations

prepared wedding website

picked colors (reds/oranges)

halfway designed invitations (sending SOON in lieu of save-the-dates)

notified family/friends thru email and word-of-mouth

asked family/friends to be in bridal party

went dress shopping only once ... no dress yet

bought favors (heart-shaped chrome luggage tags)

bought pocket-size spanish/english dictionaries

bought hair-flower that i probably won't end up using

that's NOTHING considering how much time i spend HERE and browsing all wedding-related things online! i think the problem is i can't make a decision. EVER.

if i don't finalize my invites and get them out soon tom is going to KILL me. everyone keeps asking for them (because he went and told everyone they'd be out in august)! *sigh* so far, i think about 12 people besides us have booked.

It's our families' first dw and with so many people and a handful of procrastinators I'm worried things will get a little hectic in the spring!

I'm in the same boat too... everybody thinks it's too early to book (so far we've just got parents and a few aunts and uncles booked). But our hotel is new and the grand-opening prices aren't going to be around for very long, so I'm trying to breathe down everybody's neck to at least reserve their hotel so they don't get screwed when all of a sudden it's like $400/night.

On another note.... I'm *this* close to crossing another thing off my list: I'm out of town for work and got a call saying my dress has come in!! I can't wait to get back to go try it on! smile123.gif

I get married about a week after you and I am in the same boat. Everyone says they are coming but no one has done a thing yet, except my mom and his mom!! Most haven't even gotten their passports yet and they have all known we were getting married in Cancun for about a year!! GRRRR girl_werewolf.gif

We didn't FORCE people to book (though I'm beginning to think that we should because NO ONE is doing anything) ...

What we DID do was block out seats and places at the resort ... we put down a deposit for 27 spots (25 guests and us) and that desposit then went toward my FI's ticket and mine ... so, we've already paid $2,700 toward our trip ... even if 25 people don't book, that money isn't wasted. And if 25 people DO book then there are places for everyone on the plane and at the resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
