April 2009 Brides Check In!

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about sending the invites out in November. So everyone will have received them prior to seeing them for the holidays. Then maybe RSVP due Feb 1st. I don't know if it is all too early, but I feel I need to due to a lot of slackers. I don't want a ton of last minute surprises!

- purchased GM shirts

- ordered my dress

- purchased FI's suit

- almost ready to put deposit on AHR venues

- purchased OOT bags, bottle openers

- sent STDs

-tons of research! I know what I'll be getting for the BM gifts and the other contents of the OOT bags, I just need time to order and assemble

- developed draft playlist

- developed draft guest list for AHR

Are you guys planning on making your own invites or are you ordering them?

I was planning on mailing them after the holidays, but you guys have changed my mind. I think before the holidays would be more logical because then our guests won't spend all their money on presents! They can just have one big present and that will be our wedding!smile123.gif

Now I'm sounding selfish, I know.....

Glad we're all in good company and seems like everyone is moving along! I am sending my invites out November 1 and now am relieved to see I'm not the only one who decided that. Some people tried to talk us out of sending them that early but I think it is completely necessary with the holidays and our booking deadline is January 1. We are meeting with a couple people to design and make the invitations. I really wanted to do them myself but I just can't commit to that project. I wish I had the time but I plan weddings myself and October is an insane month for me so I won't be able to get them done and mailed by November.

JHarwood- we are the only ones on April 25th I think! Congrats!

Thank you for starting this thread! Lets keep it alive!

Ladies I win the slacker award unfortunately. You are off to a great start. I on the other hand, just booked our resort. My wedding dress just came in and this weekend my MOH is picking out her dress. I'm working on the STD's now. I'm hoping I'll have them mailed out on the Sept. 18th. It will be exactly 7 months from our wedding date.

Melissa you are my wedding twin, our dates are the same!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
