I carried it on........in my review I comment on how TERRIBLE AIRTRAN is.  Some of this is due to how they regarded me with my WEDDING dress.  They jammed it into an already stuffed overhead on the first leg of the trip.  Good thing my package included steaming our wedding attire!!!!  Hopefully you are not flying airtran but if you are arrive very early and just stake your claim of the overhead!!!  One flight attendant was about to take it and check it.....thank god one took pity on me.......so wrinkled or under the plane, hopefully making to mexico!!  Wrinkled was better

AsiaJane-

Call your airline.  I called Contintental and asked if they could accomodate me since I will be carrying a wedding dress, they told me that I have to ask the flight attendant when I get on the plane, no guarantee that they can put it in a closet.  Fortunately, they didn't say I would have to check it, so hopefully the flight attendants are good.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi I am new to this site and am hoping to have my wedding at PA April-May of 2011. I want to go ahead and book it but since my guest are not ready to yet. I am worried since it is not that far away that I could book my trip and then my guest have trouble finding reservations... Has anyone else run into this?????

Hi Tracy! I just went through the same thing, since we wanted to get married in April, May or June of 2011. I think the first thing you should do is contact the wedding coordinator and secure your date. I was surprised at how little availability there was, and we didn't end up with our ideal date (even though we are still very happy). Once your wedding date is confirmed, there's a lot of flexibility in booking reservations--ESPECIALLY if you use a travel agent and book a block of rooms at a group rate. I have been speaking with Teresa, who I found by filling out the "Request for travel agent" form on this site. She was also able to contact the resort on my behalf when I wasn't getting a quick response. Her group rate quote was also much better than the resorts rates online.

And that the other thing. It's taken 3 days (or more) to receive a response from the wedding coordinator. I know they are busy people and all, but it can also be frustrating when all you want is to nail down a wedding date!

Congrats!

Thanks Jessica!     I think we are going to book this week but I am kind of bummed because the only time they have available is 3pm. I was really hoping to have our pictures when the sunsets. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there anyway to do the pictures after the cocktail hour? Help!!!

Hi Ladies,

I just got back from Dreams and had such a great time. I will post a review soon :)

Our wedding was Dec 3, and we were there from Nov 30-Dec10. We saw LOTS of weddings there, and they all looked perfect! The wedding coordinators know what they are doing, so don't worry about a thing! They do this every day!

A couple things for the recent posts...I brought my dress with me on the plane, we had connecting flights and once I had to put in overhead storage and then was able to put it in the closet (Air Canada). No problem either way, they prepared it for me at the resort as part of the package and it was perfect.

Book your date as soon as you can, like I said, there are sooo many weddings there, the dates fill up fast!

I had my wedding at 2pm, it was perfect! We used the resort photographer, and although I would have liked more than 50 pics (incl in the Ultimate pkg) there were some that turned out really really good. We had a friend with us who is also skilled with a camera and he took some great ones at sunset.

Let me know if you have and questions...either on here or private message. :)

Hi ladies! I wa wondering who you are hiring for your hair and make up. I've been talking with Adrian Guerra and he is super nice. Also what are you doing for flowers? I'm talking to Marvin from Mayan Diseno Floral and I love his work. My important question is about day passes for outside vendors. I'm hiring mostly outside vendors and DPA wants to charge a fee fe each. Did anybody run into this and if so, did you pay for each or were able to negotiate? Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
