Hello Sunsetselene, Congrat of the destination wedding & Welcome to the thread. You will find a lot of helpful info on here. My photographer was Alberto Ponce and there was another guy but I didn't get his name. I did not have a videographer b/c my friend videotaped it but previously in this thread a girl said she got the videography from the resort and it was amazing. I liked my photographers and there work. let me know if you have any other questions

We changed our location once we got there. We initially booked El Patio, but decided at the last minute that we wanted to go with one of the locations offered in our wedding package (El Patio was going to cost us $700) We had our reception indoor above El Patio/Portafino. It was amazing! Air conditioned! We had 4 tables of about 8 people. I will post pics of the table set up and some of what the potographer took. I was nervous about them setting the table up for me but it turned out amzing.

Hello MrsRobinson12, Thank you! We had a great time. It really does all fall into place once you are there. We went with the Dreams of Love package. I let Justin choose the meal b/c he is a much pickier eater than I am. We had the Bruschetta w/ Proscuitto, Minestrone soup w/ basil, Ceasar salad w/ blackened chicken, and the main course (which no on could stop talking about) was chicken stuffed w/ spinach, cream cheese and pepper sauce over a bed of mash potatos!!!! amazing!! we also had our wedding cake which was amazing and three milk cake w/ strawberries. We were stuffed. I'm glad we went with the resort services. they did a great job and I didn't have to worry if things were getting done or arriving on time. it was very stress free

I'M BACK!!! It was amazing! I don't even know where to being this review b/c for me everything was an A+++++++ The Resort: Amazingly beautiful. There was so much for everyone of our guest to do. They all said they had the best time of their lives. We did not plan any big events for them b/c we wanted it to feel like a vacation for them w/out any time restraints. I think that was a good idea and allowed all of our guest to truly enjoy this time. Food: I'm not a picky eater so I enjoyed all the restaurants. I'm not big of buffets so I didn't really go to the World Cafe too much but my husband did many times. We tried all the restaurants and didn't have a complaint about any of them. I think Justin really enjoyed the 24 hour room service a little too much Overall there was something for everyone and the food was great. The food at our wedding was AMAZING. Every single person at the reception said it was the best wedding meal they had ever had. Wedding: Our wedding was awesome. I mean truly beautiful. We went with one of the resort wedding packets and that was the best decision i have ever made. Sandra made everything so stress free and they catered to our every need. We got our flowers from the resort and they were amazing. Our wedding was at 5pm and it was beautiful. We got several compliments after the wedding about how nice our wedding was. I got my hair down by the resort salon and it was beautiful. The resort photographer took our pics and they turned out great. I have no complaints and I'm glad I didn't go with any outside vendors. The resort did an amazing job. Overall: I am SOOOOO happy I did a destination wedding. Best decision of my life I met a bride, Angie, who got married the same day as we did and she was beautiful and her family was so nice. She and her husband looked amazing and their wedding was pretty awesome as well. If you have any questions please ask and I will be more than happy to answer!

Ok this is kinda a weird question but dose anyone know if the resort has a gym?! I'm gonna be there for 12 days and I can't imagine not working out for that long

We are in the process of finalizing our plans with Sandra. We went with one of the packages and we are a little torn on what we should do about centerpieces. Other than that everything else seems to be falling into place. I'm still a little nervous about transporting my wedding dress.... Ahhhh, I got sad for you while I read your post but I'm glad it had a happy ending and Yay for you NOT flipping out. I don't know if I could have contained myself Love love the invitations. I think the colors are amazing. My wedding dress came in yesterday and I am happy to say my story is not as dramatic as yours It is a little big but still pretty amazing. Keep me posted. We both will be departing for Mexico in no time!!!!

That is awsome your borther is a chef. I think my father inlaw likes to think he is one as well I love your sides. They sound deliscious. We have about 250 people coming to our AHW. My FH and I both have large families. My mother has 14 siblings and my FH parents both come from big families so the majority of the 250 is family Most of our close friends will be joining us in Mexico and our AHW is more for family. I hope your diet went well?! I feel your pain about abs. I've just been eating healthy and of course working out 6 times a week. I have about 10 more lbs to go! Oh, my wedding dress finally came in. I went in for my first fitting and it was a little big, but i still LoVe it!

Hey ladies, how funny we are doing a pig roast at our AHW. Well we are also having smoked ribs. My father in-law is really into his meats. Sine we are having a simi-out door reception our side dishes will be summery Potato salad, broccoli and cheese, fruit salad, baked beans, and a few other things. When are ur AHR? Jessica, yay for the dress. Mine hasn't come in yet and Im pretty anxious. I've lost 15 lbs so I hope it still fits what does your dress look like? And your invitations? I need to get on the ball with invitations.

hey ladies, Its so nice to know that I'm not the only one have issues w/ TAs. It's nice to be able to vent and have someone understand where you are coming from. I just wish it didn't have to be under these circumstances Well nothing has change w/ my TA. I'm just giving up on her!!! It's a lost cause and worrying about it is ruining my wedding experience.

Hey Tracy, I feel your pain. We didn't start planning our wedding until like 2 weeks ago, but Jacy has been good about answering our questions. My wedding dress is long, but light weight. Its a Mia Solano dress and I love it! I'm thinking about wearing a short dress for the reception. I like your timeline and I also think a mariachi band would be AMAZING! Dream 2010, congrats and thank you for the review! It sounded like you had a good time minus the photoshoot I have a question about where everyone is having their reception at?! I can't really decide. I know I dont want it on the beach b/c i dont want to get a lot of sand on my dress seeing that I'm wearing it again. We have the late wedding at 5 pm. I think we mite go with the Dreams of Love Package. We have 30 people right now so it sucks that we have to pay extra for the addtl over 20 guest!!!

hey sunstarsmoon, my situation is very stressful. I just think my TA is too young. She only like 25 i think. She's very unproffssional. One time she said she was going to call at 7 and we waited all night and never got a call. that was a Wed. She did not contact us until the following monday! she said sorry i'm buying a new house and I had to go look at it. I was so pissed. it takes 2 seconds to call and cancel. it takes 2 seconds to email and say sorry the next day and not 5 days later. that was when i knew this was going to be a rocky road!

Natalie7 My thoughts exactly. I'm not asking for much. Just a little communication 101. It's simple, but its like they forgot what they are getting paid to do. Book Trips!!!! No call backs, No communication until Money is due!!! OUTRAGEOUS!

Hi JLMS, Congrats on the wedding and Welcome to the forum. I can only speak for myself but I think picking DPA was the best decision I ever made. I've only heard great things on this site about this resort and I've had nothing but a good experience with dealing with the resort. A friend of mine stayed here and loved it and she referred me to the DPA. I haven’t had my wedding yet so I can’t say it will be amazing but from what all the other girls who have gone before say, the weddings here are pretty spectacular. You should read some of the earlier post. The girls that have been married rate their wedding experiences. Maybe that will help you out. Good luck!!
