I am leaving on Saturday night... so tomorrow (friday) I am getting all of my waxing/eyebrows etc. etc. girlie stuff done. I am so nervous. Not nervous about being married to my fiance (we technically are already married last Saturday, legally) but just nervous, worried, hoping everything turns out okay for the wedding day in Tulum, and my guests have a good time. I hope to dear gosh I'm not forgetting anything.... yikes.
Hi Achi. Congrats on your legal marriage and upcoming ceremony! Have a great time...can't wait to see your pics of how everything turned out.

Hi ladies - when I email aurora, I always just reply to her previous email/my previous email, that way it's a chain of emails and she can see our previous chat. That way my name/wedding date/conf.number is always in the subject line as well. Seems to work for me and she always gets back within 2 days to my emails. I also try not to send too many questions at once, then it tends to be longer response times. Hope that helps you ladies!!

Congrats LeNell!!! I'm so excited for you!!! And you too ddk5576!!! And you are moving to Canada - where to? I'm hope you'll love it here!!! :)

Thanks everyone, Aurora finally did get back to me, which is good. One of the things i asked her about was substituting items in the packages. I am opting for the the "Dreams of Love Wedding" but don't need a lot of the things included (like the judge since we're doing a symbolic ceremony). I wanted to use the money these items would have cost towards something else, like food or center pieces, but Aurora said no. Is anyone else having this same problem?? Has anyone gotten a different answer to this sort of question?

In my opinion gone are the days when Dreams would happily trade services or add on freebies. When reading through older posts it seems that once upon a time this happened but not so much nowsad.gif

Are you sure that its not better value for you to do the free wedding and add in your "wants" rather than pay for a package and take away your "dont wants"?

That being said I did find them very accomodating and I do think that they do everything within reason to make the most of your day:)
I have included below some of the things that we requested and they were more than happy to do. It may help give you an idea of whats do-able and what not.

1. We swapped my hair styling for my MOH's (like for like really which is the kind of thing I think they will do no probs) = no extra cost
2. Cancelled a floral centrepiece with less than 24 hours to go because we realised it was extra cost = no cancellation charge
3. Swapped Hors d'Ouvres cocktail hour menu for mexican style tapas = no extra cost
4. Added refreshing towels to be given out after the ceremony. Natalia our WC was waiting with these herself as we exited the chapel she did think there would be extra cost for this but whether she forgot or the manager waived it im not sure = no extra charge
5. Offered our guests the choice of 2 entrees, 1 salad/1 veg salad, 2 meat mains + a veggie option, 1 dessert = no extra cost
6. Requested extra lighting for our reception, admittedly they were spotlights and not "mood" lighting but they did the trick = no extra cost.

Hope you manage to come to a solution soon

Are there any brides here who had rain on their wedding day?

And if you did how did this change your plans? Did you opt for the chapel? I just have a concern if there are multiple weddings the same day and it rains does everyone use the chapel and have their times changed around?

Northernflasher - amazing review, thank you so much for sharing everything!

I have a question about transportation, not using a taxi but getting like vans to shuttle my guests back and forth for an excursion, did anyone use a specific company for this or have any suggestions of someone I could contact? Any help would be great, I haven't gotten very far on my searches as they all seem to be in Cancun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
