My reception was at the seaside grill and my candles wouldn't stay lit. They were floating candals, and they were sitting near the top of the vase. If they had been lower in the vase (i.e. sheltered) I think it would have been fine. so if your votive holders are high enough maybe it will be okay. Maybe you could test outside on a windy day (or inside, in front of a fan) to see how your candles hold up in your holders? The LED ones are a good idea but definitely much more expensive.

Hi Ladies, just wondering, has anyone used the house band at Dreams? When my parents did the site visit Landy had said that they were very good, but I haven't seen them mentioned at all on here so that leads me to wonder. My mom is being pretty insistent that we have live music at the reception at DT, especially since a band back in NY for our home reception is like 10K!!! Has anyone used the band or heard the band? I don't want to agree to this and have it be a disaster!

I had this same question before leaving. You pay a % fee whether it's traveller's cheques or cc. If you pay by cc, they charge you in pesos, so they will take the quotes dollar amount (in US$) and exchange it to pesos, and then your cc will exchange it back to US$. I was worried the resort would use a poor exchange rate to charge me for the wedding fees, so I decided to use traveller's cheques so that I was paying the advertised prices. But really, I don't know if that's better, that's just what I decided to do.

It was the standard 2007/2008 guide price. $50 each. I"m sure its more for the 09 pricing. Not sure exactly.

random question, but dour does anyone else ever get a "database error" message when trying to pull up the forum in your browser? i about had a heart attack 10 minutes ago thinking the forum was down the day before i leave for mexico!!

also...anyone know the answer the battery question for the iPod docking station? i'm assuming their either Cs or Ds, but want to make sure I bring the right ones!!!

i have a few minor things to do tonight...like pack my clothes!! and then tomorrow is mani/pedi, hair trim, tanning and finishing up a DIY project I threw in at the last minute, but overall I'm feeling pretty good :)

can't wait to tell you all about it when I get back in February!!!
