Did you pick them out for them? Or let them go and pick them out? I think this is a good idea but I wouldn't be sure how to pick a pair that would look good on them...?

I got mine...

-their dresses

-jewelry from macy's to go with their dresses

-a coach wristlet (so cheap at the coach outlet - seriously like $17 a piece)

-and a tiffany blue leather luggage tag (b/c it is a destination wedding after all and who doesn't love anything from Tiffany's!)

My BMs are getting swag bags. I bought their dresses which ended up being a lot cheaper than anticipated so I had some extra money to play with. I got my 2 BM and flower girl each a personalized beach bag, and so far have bought them flip flops and custom swarovski necklace and earrings to match their dress, picture album for BMs and frame for FG, a sundress for FG, and mani/pedi gift set from Bath & Body Works for BMs.

I still want to get them a couple other things for the bag, but haven't decided what that will be yet. I guess when I come across something I will get it. Some ideas are beach towels, cover up, book/mag to read on the beach, gift card to sunglass hut or something to get some new shades, travel jewelry case, passport/ticket holder. I am also getting each of the BMs a gift certificate to the spa at the resort in Mexico that they can use for whatever service they want. My plan is to give them their bags at the shower (if I can get all the stuff before then) and then they will still get an OOT bag in Mexico. The spa gift certificate I will give to them there with a thank you card. I wanted to spend $150-200 per girl.

I bought my three girls:

-Their Dresses and flip flops

- I will pay to have their hair and nails done

- We are going to get messages the day of the wedding

-And I bought each one pearl earings, from the jeweler where we bought our rings.

- and now I am looking for necklaces to add the lot.

WOW! I want to be in some of your wedding parties! The $300 I spent was $300 a piece..so although I'm not cheap I'm also not rich (4 kids at home).

What is the "custom swavorski" idea..I was at their store and a necklace/earring set was $120 Canadian. Maybe I'll take a quick trip to the states to get a few things!

Aside from the "typical" gifts like jewelry, here are a few things I was thinking of getting my BMs:

***Massages or Manicures

***Personalized stationery

***Taking them all out to lunch in Mexico - maybe a day or 2 before the wedding

***Personalized Travel Tote -

Large Lighthouse U-zip Toiletry Kit from Lands' End

Packable Toiletry Kit from Lands' End

I am also going to stock the rooms (we are staying at villas, not an all-inclusive resort) with a bottle of wine and maybe some beer and snacks.

Thanks for the tips!

I am paying for hair & make up as well at the resort. So I don't think I'll go with any more "spa" treatments. I like the idea of the tote bag. I can put their jewellery in it as well as a copy of other things. Personalized stationary sounds cute!

  • 3 years later...

I like the idea of them opening up thier gifts the day of the wedding. But some of the stuff I think would be more useful before the wedding like I'm planning on giving some of the wedding part Lilly Pultitzer passport covers.

I have a mixed gender wedding party, with some varraying styles and ages, (my fioncee's sister is 19 years older). So I have a bit of a challange too. I am not doing OOT bags, only bags for the wedding party and our vendors we are flying in. I was thinking about including towels, a postcard and a bottle of liquor. Possibly a deck of cards. But I want to give that to them when they arrive. And then I still want them to open up something the day of the wedding. Any ideas?

Girls I'm a mess, sorry that I took over this thread.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
