nicdeb--They do have a new wedding gazebo on the north side, it is called the Chichen Gazebo (between building 3 and 4). My daughter is getting married there on May 20,2010. It has a boardwalk leading up to it which we will have decorated with white lilies, we will have a harpest and the Sapphire collection wedding, we will have the horsedrawn carriage at end of ceremony instead of beginning. We are having the 1 hour cocktail and hors d'oveures reception in the Pandero Terrace with music for dancing. We will have the wedding dinner at ElGreco on the outside terrace.

Missy- not at all. The oil is headed toward USA.

A bit of news I just heard from someone who just returned from Aventura Spa. The week of April 17th the northern most wedding Gazebo caught on fire. Apparantly during a wedding ceremony the wind blew the fireworks toward the large grass roof and set it on fire. The entire roof burnt off! They set the fireworks off when the bride and groom kiss. My husband says it must of been a hell-of-a first kiss!! I hope they get the roof fixed soon because I know they have a lot of weddings there in May.

No, the Coba is the south gazebo, it is on the Aventura Cove side (family side). The furthest north gazebo is the Tulum Gazebo (the one that was on fire) and the new wedding gazebo, the Chichen Gazebo, is between the two of them and on the north side (Spa side). From the main patio area (in front of maze) at Aventura Spa, you can see the Coba Gazebo on one side and the Chichen Gazebo on the other. The Tulum Gazebo can not be seen from there, because it sits at the very end of the property on the north side.

Thanks for the update! We are staying on the adult only side but all of my wedding day events will be on the family side. Ceremony in the Coba Gazebo, Cocktail Hour at the Pandero Terrace and Dinner on the cove Terrace.

But I hope the other gazebo gets fixed soon, especially for the brides who had their hearts set on getting married in it.

How are you all able to decide exactly where you are getting married and eating? I've only seen pictures of one gazebo... and the only pictures I've seen of restaurants are of people sitting at tables eating, so no details really. Does anyone know where I can get pictures of the three gazebos and the restaurants? I feel like if I don't pick now, we won't get what we want! Yet, how do I know what I want until I see it! Wedding is in 5wks... =)

Dulce, my wedding coordinator email me pictures. I also did alot of deciding based on this thread and reading the reviews.

Once I picked the gazebo I knew I wanted everything fairly close together so I narrowed it down from there. Read through this thread it will help :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
