But the costs jumped quite a bit (over 600) for us not to come with our group. Did any of you have your WC put the bags together? Was there an extra charge? Did it go smoothy? When we met with Yazmin during our site inspection she recomended a customs broker to insure our items didn't get caught up in customs...did any of you use a customs broker? I am totally overwhelmed by the travel aspect and the group contract. There are just so many people to coordinate and the costs are so high. Any advice We actually put together our bags before we left for Mexico and hand delivered them to whoever lived close. If they lived far or out of state I shipped them. This actually worked out really great. It amped my guests up for the trip. I was so happy I didn't have to lug them to Mexico too.
  3. You can't make this stuff up!
  4. Welcome to the forum, spend some time reading the Aventura Spa Palace thread it will help answer all of those questions you have. I basically planned my whole wedding at ASP using this forum Good Luck!

Mundaca Steakhouse had a nice lower terrace for dinner reservations but by no means is it private they can seat people on the level with you, if its slow that night you could luck out. Also El Greco had a nice view with a outside terrace.

My reception dinner was held on the cover terrace it was a great location for me & my guests, I could not have picked a better location. I brought sour flip flops & gummy lobsters for the tables. I got them at a Hallmark Store.

First shot I have really seen at ASP where someone really took advantage of the great gardens. When I first booked Del Sol I booked them for 3 hours about 2 months before the wedding I added on another hours. So to answer your question 4 hours. Also in one shot there is a beautiful white flower centerpiece in a glass vase, Did you order those? They are wonderful. That was on the table with the food during my cocktail hours. Dulce added it, it was a suprise I had no idea it was going to be there. I had my cocktail hour on the cove side at the maraca terrace, great location for a small group, nice shade. I changed my coctail hour location the day before the wedding. I orginally had it booke onthe pandero terrace but it was just to hot to be on a terrace with no covering or shade. I belive those centerpices are what they line the aisle with when you get the diamond package. Congrats! You guys look so precious.Thank You! Oh Also? Did you hire an outside vendor to do your makeup or will they come to your room? I hired Fernando Fuentes

  12. Thought I would post my ASP Wedding Pic here too, along with my Del Sol review. Here is the link to my wedding slideshow, enjoy!: 05.25.10 Jacquelyn + Mark | Wedding at Aventura Spa Palace | Photos by Matt Adcock I have to say working with Del Sol Photography was a wonderful experience!!! From the very start of the whole process Del Sol was a pleasure to work with. Melissa in the Del Sol office was fantastic she answered all of my questions to the tee and in a timely manner. And trust me I had maannnyyy questions! I made sure to put Matt & Rodrigo from Del Sol on my guest list and I purchased day passes for them ahead of time to avoid any problems with them getting in. Everything went smoothly. Matt & Rodrigo worked their butts off to get the best shots that day. They were like stealth ninjas, moving quickly to get the shots and half the time I didn't even notice them. My guests did comment on how amazing it was that they were willing to get down and dirty in the HOT heat to make sure they captured the moment. Matt & Rodrigo were awesome and made my husband and I feel really comfortable. I received my wedding slideshow in less than a month of getting married. And I can't wait to see all the rest of my pictures when my DVD arrives. I highly recommend Del Sol Photography they rocked my socks off!

  14. Hey! How do you start your own thread, I want to post my review of my wedding at ASP as well as some of my Del Sol photos. Never started my own thread before.

We decided on renting the equiptment, it was $250 for the speakers, microphone and the hook up to play the i pod. I'm glad we did it that way because I think the sound might have gotten lost otherwise. And I wanted the music loud because it was dinner & dancing. But for background music for a cocktail hour you might be able to get away with the bose.
  16. I didn't get married at the Royal Hideaway but I did vacation there, it was amazing! Only thing is its a smaller hotel with only one pool, great for a vacation but I thought my guests would be too bored there and all over each other. But the service was top notch and the grounds were beautiful.

Yes there were microphones and speakers. The sound quality of the ceremony was great in the DVD I purchased. I would recommend buying the DVD!
  18. Also, the dinner at ElGreco was fantastic with filet mignon and shrimp! Mmm, we had the Filet migneon and shrimp at Mundaca for our "Rehersal Dinner" the night before the wedding and almost everyone order it and loved it.
  19. I have some pictures of the buffet food from my wedding dinner (private event menu) and the cake. If you can walk me through the steps of posting individual pictures I will post them for you
  20. Sorry I have been slacking on my full review, been so busy! But I promise it's coming. In the meantime if you have any specific questions feel free to ask
  21. I know there was discussion a few posts back about ASP wedding cakes. So I thought I would chime in, my cake was fantastic! Actually my guests said the wedding cake at ASP was better then my wedding cake at my at home reception. We did not upgrade the cake we just pick from what ever was in the complimentary package. So your choices are: Heart, Square or Round. (We chose square) Vanilla, Chocolate or Strawberry (We chose Vanilla) Cantilly Frosting or Fondant (We chose chantilly-it didnt melt or droop and it was yummy like a buttercream/whip cream mix) And there were about 5 choices for a design we chose the ivory seashell design, looked great! The vanilla cake was moist and tasted like it was almost soaked in a rum or something it was delicious. I'm trying to post a picture of it, can anyone tell me how to do this?

I do have to vent though... On and off through this whole process I have been told that I would get certain perks then later Palace or my TA will say something different!!! Very frustrating... urgggh! Also my onsite coordinator has been good for the most part (Dulce) but lately she hasnt been responding to my emails or just certain emails. Of course she avoids the emails about the promotions! I have 61 room nights and 32 people coming to our wedding but for some reason I dont feel that they are working with me on the perks! On my contract through Destination Weddings it says I qualify for the following but my TA told me we don't since one of my friends booked just two nights at the resort so they are not counting my friends room nights in the total and just saying we are at 59 room nights! Also we booked 10 nights in a concierge level room and a few couples are staying 6 or more nights! The Hotel agrees to provide one complimentary private function plus 4 complimentary nights, with 20-24 rooms paid nightly for 3 nights or 60 room nights. Complimentary nights have a $10 per person per night non refundable charge for tips & gratuities applied. Should the group require additional functions there will be a surcharge of $15 per person per event. Destination Weddings, INC Exclusive Offer: $100.00 golf/spa credit for bride and groom. Does anyone know if they work with you when you actually get down there? I'm so jealous, I just had my wedding 2 weeks ago and I want to go back and do it allll over again. I know its stressful but everything will work out fine. You will have your meeting with Dulce when you get there and she will answer any questions you have. I'm not quite sure abou the promotions. But I do know that I booked enough rooms to get the free cocktail hour (the promo posted on the palace website) but since we did not book a "group contract" they would not honor it. That was a bummer but what can you do. Good choice on the concierge level, that we we stayed in and it was great. They really bent over backwards for us. I loved the extra room service menu you get with the concierge level.

There was no dance floor laid down but that was no necessary there was a clear area for everyone to dance, it worked out perfect.
