Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Katie...I think you should get whatever YOU like for the dress. It is after all YOUR wedding not anybody else's!

I ended up getting a dress that suites my body type (I am curvy too) and my step mother chimed in with the same opinion as your mum did too.

I would post the pic of the dress on here for you but for some reason I can't; It is a Maggie Sottero dress and it is called Grace if you wanted to check it out on her website.

I have learned that you are not going to please everyone when you are getting married because they all have different opinions then you do so if you want to be happy on your wedding day with the way that things turn out then you just need to stop asking people (FI included) what they think of different ideas and just get what you think will look nice.

Hey Meghan! I'm not completely sure yet. It's so funny, when I was talking to the wedding holiday yesterday I was thinking in my head "I wonder what the hell Meghan is doing for hers?" lol. I'll keep you posted for sure! The TA was kind of hinting that I need to get my censored.gif in gear lol. Yes, I'm a huge procrastinator.

Katie - Re: the dress. I think if you feel comfortable in it then you should get it. I wouldn't take too much offence to the comment from your mom because she's probably just thinking about your well being. She probably just doesn't want you to choose something that you're going to be dying in because she wants you to enjoy your day! If she really starts pushing it then that's a different story, lol. Hopefully she only brought it up as something for you to "consider" in your decision making process. Let us know what you decide! We'll support you!!

Katie -

I was just in this EXACT same position... the dress I posted on here that I bought I emailed to my mom and my bridesmaids and all the bridesmaids loved it, my mom said it wasn't appropriate for a beach wedding, even though I'll be on the sky deck. That's what prompted my frantic thread asking if it was an appropriate dress or not.

I told her to save her judgements for Sunday when I tried it on for her and all my bridesmaids. When I came out, they all gasped and I turned around and saw her nodding and looked at me and I said, "this is my dress isn't it?" They all said, yes, OMG, that is SO your dress.

Moral of the story... go with your heart, it's hard to see a dress on a stranger and convince others it's your dress sometimes, when they see it in person it's different.

Good luck!

Katie,

Wear whatever dress you feel like a princess in. Its your day! Just because you are having a destination wedding doesn't mean you have to wear a "destination dress". Also, ask the store you buy your dress from for packing tips. They will know the best way to pack the dress; they might even pack it for you if your bring in a suit case or carry on.

Definitely! I go down on 9/3 and I leave on 9/10. 1 full week. I am currently finalizing everything with Tiffany Borowsky and this has been crazy. Can't wait to see you there!

Guys - the quote I just got for my gazebo set up was $270:

2 Large hanging corsages- $60.00 usd each= $120.00 usd

2 sheers one white and one turquoise- for both $150.00 usd

I'm thinking by the time I find my own, bring them down and pay for the set up, I might be close to the $150 anyway. I'm going to need more than 12 chairs, too, so there's another $150 probably!

Hey Ladies!

So, my TA got back to me and for purple and white large hanging corsages (without dictating the actual flower), I'm back to $60 and $33 for the small ones.

At this late in the game I think I am going to bite the bullet and just pay for the 'bed sheets.'

Katie -I can't wear tradition DW style dresses either.... I went for a dress that suited my body type the best, therefore making ME feel beautiful! That is the point- its your day, and the photos will be with you for the rest of your life and you want to love them!

My dress has a crazy train -but who cares! I thought I'd include a pic for fun.

Speaking of my dress -it hasn't arrived yet... I ordered it in Dec! The size we ordered is definitely going to be too big and I am reworking a huge amount of it (note the ribbons tossed on in the pic) and am starting to panic. Just a bit...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
