Your video is amazing. Thanks for the link to the paper lantern store. I was wondering if you used the light up lanterns or just the regular ones? Also, what kind of lights did you wrap around the posts?

There is a 30% off coupon through Sunday on the paper lantern site if anyone is interested.

Thank you and congrats!!!

No worries. I stressed over this and bought so many different colors to see what I liked before finally deciding. (Side note...we brought fishing line so they could hang the lanterns) I bought pink, mint and white. 12in, 16in, 20in. If I remember correctly I think we decided to not use all of the 20 inch as they were pretty big. I would not go smaller than 12 in. We bought 28 lanterns but I think we only used 24 of them. Sorry it's been a few months so hard to remember. We did not buy lights for the lanterns. The center lantern they put up was on a light, so it lit up.

Thank you! We were so happy with how it turned out.

We bought the regular paper lanterns. We used icicle lights to wrap around the poles.

@@linaco80 @@carrieandsam Thank you ladies! I loved the video too. I just got my full video from Caribe yesterday. They FedEx'ed it to us because we forgot to pick it up at our honeymoon resort, the El Dorado Casitas Royale.. Whoops! But yes, they did a fabulous job!

My cousin is a photographer so she did the photography. I flew her in and she stayed more than 4 nights so I didn't have to pay the $800 vendor fee.

So cute! Love theme you have going.  Do you mind me asking when you purchased the fans? Were these blank when purchased and then you printed yourself?

Thanks!

Hi Brides!

I have a question regarding lighting... Withing the the wedding portal, the lighting options seem VERY expensive. $50 for one pole at Plaza Zavaz ($400 for whole thing), The bulb string lights $1500... Yikes.

Has anyone brought in their own lights? If so, Did they charge for your extension cords and set up? Would prefer to bring my own.

Thanks!

Nearly everyone brings their own... It's a major topic of conversation in the official Sensatori and the Sensatori Brides threads. Number of strings needed etc are all talked about.

No need for cords... Just tell them how to want them to be hung during your on site meeting and they will do so. There will be the overall set up charge for all decor and displays they will charge you for setting up your decor that is paid in cash and directly there at the resort in the meeting as they pay their manpower directly to do so. It's usually $250 or less depending on what decor/work you have them do.

@@LaurenR  My friend Ellen at Paper Pleasers designed all the paper items, including the fans. She is excellent to work with!

@@atyson03 we bought the maracas from etsy but we had a bad experience. We ended up painting them ourselves. I took my bridesmaid's dress swatch to Home Depot and I found the closest color to our seafoam. We painted the maracas and then my sister hand painted each one with a starfish and our names. They turned out really great!

@@LaurenR I used Katy for some of the decor I didn't want to lug down to Mexico. She has really reasonable prices and was great to work with! She has a bunch of items including vases, paper lanterns, even a photo booth.

You can reach out to her at katy@loveandrum.com

Here are her prices for string lighting:

$15 ea. - Stringlighting - Globe bulb string lighting with 25 bulbs per strand, 23 ft long/7 meters (I have 13 strands)
$15 ea. - Globe bulb string lighting, warm glow LED bulbs, 25 bulbs per strand, 23 ft long/7 meters (I have 7 strands)
$12 ea. - Christmas lights on white cording (I have 6 of these, 75 ft long, 150 bulbs per strand) or green cord (inquire for measurements, I have 4 of these)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
