welcome to the forum and happy planning. I agree with the brides here that once you get a venue everythin will fall into place. I think a lot of people selected their dates pretty far in advance so you might not get exact date that you want, but I am sure they can work with you on the general time you wanted. Godd luck!

I guess the hardest part is picking the venue. Think of the # of people you are having - whether you want a private reception - whether you want something that an all-inclusive wedding package or more a la carte - how far you want to be from the airport (if that matters) - and cost for your guests.

These were the things that helped me narrow it down.

Thanks for the responses! We are expecting around 50 people, possibly more. I e-mailed Dreams about 7 times in the last 2 weeks and I haven't gotten a response from them at all. I've been in contact with a bunch of hotels but I can't figure out the best way to go. I want a private party after the ceremony, and a lot of hotels want you to go to their inclusive rest. - not for me. Can any1 recommend a hotel that has nice private receptions? AND THANKS AGAIN!

I planned my Dreams Tulum wedding in 3.5 months so it's definitely do-able. check out that resort. They offer private receptions at restaurants, on the beach, or in the new conference center. There is a huge thread in the mayan riviera section about this resort.

If you can't get a hold of wedding coordinators by email, try phoning them, you may have to try several times before you get a hold of them but you can get a quicker, and more complete answer (the opportunity to ask for alternative dates) that way

Congrats and good luck on the quick wedding. I have an awesome travel agent that works with anyone across the US and always gets the BEST deals. She has setup travel arrangements and weddings for several people we have sent to her. If you are interested let me know and I will get her info for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
