I was just wondering what everyone elses experiences were with 'holding' vs. 'confirming' your wedding date. Did you receive some sort of official confirmation email? Thank you so much for the help!
Our date was on hold for several weeks. Once we booked our trip our TA emailed the travel manifest to our WC and we heard back the next day re: our confirmation. The TA seemed to get much quicker responses from Victoria (WC) than we did...She also sent emails regarding guest lists and personal information needed for the ceremony.

It took me about 2 weeks before I heard back from my WC that my date was confirmed. That was the longest it has taken for me to hear back from Claudia. Usually it's 1-2 days for me to get a response from her.

Does anyone know what the options are for wedding cake flavors? I know lots of brides have tres leches, but I'm not sure we want to go with that. It's not even a big deal, it's just cake, lol. But we are feeding each other, I want to like it :)

Sandra not sure on flavors, but I did email them two pictures and they are able to do both...so I am assuming if they can copy both of the pics they probably could do what flavor you wanted as well

I think it was a 95$ upcharge if you didnt go with the standard

As far as I know the cake flavors are vanilla, chocolate, coconut and pineapple. There may be other options, but they are not included.

It took me a few weeks to get official confirmation on my wedding. Don't stress!

Hey Sandra,

Has your WC sent you any cakes they have done before? I have requested this but have not seen any. We want to do the cake cutting and all that but I am not sure I need a 3 tiered cake since our menu offers dessert. Please send me pics if you have gotten any...tonibartow@yahoo.com

thanks

I just got married at the Palace on July 18th! I could not have asked for a nicer wedding!!! They do such a nice job and do anything to make you happy. As far as the 3 hour reception. Yes it is true. That is all that is included in the price of the wedding package. If you would like to extend it... which I did... it is an additional $9/10 USD per hour. I got married at the Colonial Chapel at 4:30... Had cocktail hour at 6:30pm till 8pm and then the reception started at 8pm and went till midnight.

If you have any questions just ask!

Ercia,

I would like some help with my timeline....would you be willing to help?
My ceremony is in the chapel at 4pm. How long should we leave for pictures of us and our group?? My FI doesn't want people to have to wait around to long but I don't want to rush through the day.

Was your cocktail food and drinks? Did people mind eating dinner that late...what time was dinner served?

Please help if you can!!! Thanks so much!!

I guess I have to put them on shutterfly or something like that & just post the link.

I've been catching up reading the last few pages that I've missed & it seems a lot of you are starting to get really upset. I know it's hard, but having been down there & seeing what the WC does, just try to relax and cut them some slack. You have to remember that when it is your day, they will be focused on YOU, and not the 3,000 emails of the same question that they get a day. I know it's hard bc we are trying to plan & need the correct info...believe me, I get that...it's frustrating!! ....but at the same time, try to understand their side of it too. I really don't think (from my experience) they are trying to nickel & dime. Some of their policies are annoying (photog & DJ)- but most of the resorts do this. Yes, the Barcelo's price is a little higher than other resorts, but in all fairness we knew that going in. The resort is absolutely stunning...and sometimes in life, you get what you pay for....hopefully, we will all be getting beautiful weddings filled with moments that will stay with us and our guests.
Have you happened to posted a link and I missed it?? I paged through lots of this thread and didn't see it...anxious to see the pics :)

    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
    • Hello everyone,  I am still engaged, still not planning the big day, because we haven't chosen a date + we have some family stiff to do so I hope that this forum will help me a lot before the real craziness during the wedding planning period. Happy to be here
