Jodey, thats great, thank you for the info! But they should take it off their website cuz I too already got this done and never thought they would do it there...

From their website:

What are the requirements to get a marriage license in Mexico?

Valid passport

Tourist Cards (blue sheets that you receive at the airport)

Apostille certified birth certificates for Bride & Groom (see below)

If applicable, final Record of Divorce

If applicable, Death Certificate

Health certificate and blood test provided by a Mexican Official*

Bride & Groom must arrive four business days prior to the ceremony! (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count).

*Additional costs apply.

What is an Apostille document. Why do I need it and where do I get it?

Apostille is a French word which means a certification. It is commonly used in English to refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Documents which have been notarized by a notary public, and certain other documents, and then certified with a conformant apostille are accepted for legal use in all the nations that have signed the Hague Convention. We're getting married at 4:00 PM in November as well. I did a lot of research on the weather in Cancun in November and the reviews are that it is great. November is after or at the very tail end of hurricane season and it rains during the month but Jilly and others have said that its a quick 10 minute down pour and then beautiful again. You will be just fine!!! (and by you, I mean 'we' :-))

Did anyone receive rates for 2009? I am geting married in May. I am really hoping that we will not have to change wedding location. The cost of air is geting too expensive, I really do not want my guest to pay a fortune.

I want to scream.... It looks like the cost will be about $2900 a couple for 3 nights. Do you think that is too much??

Are you guys doing a sand ceremony? Or any readings? If so where are you buying your sand?

Also at the reception are you doing a garter/bouquet toss? If so when are you doing this?

I'm having my reception in the club tower but want to do dancing outside on the terrace..anyone else doing this? I was just wondering how I would have them set up the sound system?

Past brides....can we leave the doors open so we can hear it and set up outside?

I'm so clueless to all this stuff!!!

Thanks for your help.

For those who have been to DC before.... I have been reading about that awesome idea of having a shoe table for beach receptions, where guests can put their shoes during the reception. Does anyone know if there is a pathway or walkway right near the location the beach receptions are held where I could ask for a table like this to be put? Thanks so much!

    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
    • Hello everyone,  I am still engaged, still not planning the big day, because we haven't chosen a date + we have some family stiff to do so I hope that this forum will help me a lot before the real craziness during the wedding planning period. Happy to be here
    • Two of my friends are going to get married next month. Out of them one is suffering from serious teeth issue. He is having bleeding gums along with jaw pain and swelling, particularly around the gums or around the jaw. Because of the teeth issue, he is not able to make the arrangements for the marriage. Is it safe to carry out tooth extraction during this period of time? How painful is dental implants during and after the procedure? Will he be able to eat food after tooth extraction? Please share your views and suggestions. Thank you!
