Thank you so much! I just wanted to say I didn't have any issues with bugs either and I would highly recommend Himitsu beach for your reception; it is smaller and more intimate and it is sheltered from the wind unlike the other beach. At Himitsu your reception will be quite close to the restaurant and just a few steps from the walking path so your grandma won't have to walk far at all. The beach is also close to the pyramid so if your guests are staying in that part of the hotel, they won't have far to go.

Awesome thank you! I just reserved himitsu beach :)

Are table decorations at Dreams really priced outrageously? I assume so since so many brides are bringing their own all the way to Mexico. The thought of transporting that stuff along with all the other wedding paraphernalia makes me cringe (do I sound like a total wimp?). Do the wedding coordinators send you the options beforehand or do you have to wait for your meeting AT Dreams a couple of days before the wedding to see what is offered and prices?

Can you tell that my wedding is getting close and I'm starting to stress out a bit? ;)

Also, the WC has only sent me my contract so far for my May wedding. In addition to the table decoration options, do the WCs  send you ANY of the option details in advance (flowers, music options) or do you have to wait til you get there to see your options and pricing?

I just want to know what to expect.  I was really hoping to work through some of the details to see what will fit into my budget BEFORE we get there in case I have to compensate with some DIY.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hi Michelle, I'm in the same boat as you, my wedding date is 30th April and Im not sure what to expect really with decorations and flowers etc. I live in London so want to bring as little as possible. I don't really have any info yet but all brides say everything works out perfectly and not to stress so I'm trying not to xxxx

orchid centerpiece.jpgOk guys. I have some tips. My wedding is there on April 6, 2012. There is a past Dreams bride that brought some tall cylinder glass vases there and I asked Claudia about them and she is not charging to use them. All I am bringing in my suitcase is fake green orchids and a flaoting candle for each centerpiece. I am also bringing 25 starfish with me. I will leave the 25 starfish with Claudia for any of you brides to use while you are there. I will also leave the green orchids behind as well. Here is what my centerpieces will look like but with GREEN orchids.

PS this is a really tall vase in the picture. The actual vase is half the size lengthwise.

I am tying the place setting names to them with a ribbon. Depending what your colors are I could leave the ribbon behind too. The ribbon is thin and an orange color.

I got married at dreams last year- please check out my add for all of my used table linens and chair sashes, bride groom passport covers, starfish, lanyards, welcome postcards and room key holder cards. I just looking to get rid of all of it to the same person to avoid shipping everything separately and I know that only someone getting married in Mexico will want this stuff bc the postcards say Mexico! Fuchsia, lime green, and bright orange linens. Look at the add for pics! Happy to answer any questions anyone has about dreams also! Anything I can do to help any future dreams brides!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
