Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I have a question about the golfing there!

My TA/wedding planner got told that if you stay in the royal golden section of the akumal then your green fees are included you just pay $65 for golf cart. What about if you are staying at the tulum or coba? whats included for golf for them? or is it not included for them?

Hello Ladies! I can't believe, only 10 days until my wedding! I have a very important question. Brides who got married at Akumal beach, you probably would be able to help me better. My package remember does not include the champagne toast, and it would be strange not to celebrate our marriage with a champagne right away after the ceremony. Eugenia quoted me $3 p/p service charge for champagne toast if I bring my own champagne or $5 p/p open bar ( i guess like a cocktail hour). I am just confused! I have about 42 people, and i dont know if it is worth it. I just have to pay for drinks when they are already included! Is there a bar right there at Akumal Beach? whoever had a champagne toast, let me know please how that goes!

And I also have one more question: how many rose petals would I need to cover the aisle, not moderately, but enough to look pretty?

Thank you beforehand!

Hi there . I just got married 2 weeks ago at Bahia Principe COBA. Our Ceremony was at Akumel the beach location. While the beach ceremony and everything they did for us after was amazing, I would never go back to that resort. Every one of our pictures has a worker in the background. I was under the impressions when signing my contract that no outside photgraphers were aloud. The "pool party" reception was amazing. I thought the day was great . If you dont mind a HUGE resort that you will like this one. But hosting your friends and family and wanting to make sure you spend enough time with people can get super hard when its so big and the rooms dont offer you voicemail ...to leave a message. You go by gut to where you think people will be.

Good luck to all the brides out there . if you can get Diego as your photog he really was great, just needs a little direction.

Dont pay anything.

Its an all inclusive.

We used a resturant there and had two options with a starter and a wedding cake.

They didnt charge us a thing for food as they didnt rent out the resturant for us ( however , they did cause we had 40 people ) and we were in a long corner ...it was amazing. we had speeches and everything.

Hope that helps

Haha- my name is Jennifer. And I have a different middle and last name than that- it wasn't even close!! It wasn't the official part, thank god- they give you an English translation of your vows and it was on there that it was different. I've decided to think of it as amusing and a story to tell far in the future! In fact, maybe I will get it framed! But still, I think it shows a lack of attention to detail for the envelope to be addressed wrong, and for such an important piece of paper to be wrong!

Hi has anyone had there poolside reception at the Tulum pool? I have seen a lot of people say that you only need to pay for the cheapest drinks package as the bar staff give you any drinks anyway but then I have seen someone say that there isn't actually a bar at Tulum pool so they just set up what you have paid for? Does anyone know if this is the case? Also I am getting married at Tulumn Gazebo and then meal at the brazillian restaurant, can I request the pool side reception for a different pool other than tulum?

Thanks.x

I'm hoping to have my entire reception at the Tulum pool - not sure which one tho. I've seen them have it at the main pool but I've also seen them set up at the private Diamond Club pool too. Tho - I think you have to be in the Diamond club to have it there - but I'm not 100%
I'm hoping someone else on here has some info on it.
I've been told you can do whatever you want as long as you're willing to pay.
Not too sure about the drink package tho.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
